BenQ VAD6038 DVD Replacement Drive For Xbox 360

I like that the delivery was withing time and items accurate as mentioned in the ad. However, the seller never replied to any of my questions and despite all the requests, never gave me a feedback. I did however gave him/her a positive feedback, because the item was withing description.

this drive is known as a quiet drive. and i own a couple of these. i have been using it for a while and still have not fail on me! I argue with people that tell me this drive is not a good drive. well is this one!

This drive worked great, but when you get a new drive you are going to have to flash it or do what I did, Solder the old PCB Board into the new one, worked great for me, Thanks again Xboxstaion, Fast shipping, Great customer service and Excellent Product, used it to fix my old xbox 360, Will buy again if I need to

These are by far my favorite drives for the Xbox 360. Easy to work with, reads almost all media and very affordable. A++

The less than excellent rating is no reflection on the seller. It was shipped as promised and works as advertised. I rate it low because Microsoft is unwilling to help it's customers. I swapped the circuit cards of the new and old drives so the machine didn't know the drive was replaced. Some of the other methods such as updating firmware went over my head. Great price too.

It worked beautifully and got me up and running in short time. For others interested in this drive, remember to swap the drive board from the old drive to keep the MAC address valid(you will need to solder). This made things a bit challenging but it was the exact replacement for my product and I am very happy.

I called Microsoft about my 360 not reading games, and they informed me that the machine I paid $300 for was 20 days past the 1 year point, so they would fix it for another $100+shipping...I saw these replacement drives for $35 and thought, why not. I could not find any info about replacing the Benq drive, but the procedure is the same for all 360 DVD drives, except you WILL have to solder during this project. Earlier 360's used plug in circut boards inside the DVD drive. The Benq drive uses solder conections on 9 wires attaching to the board. You have the choice to either flash your new DVD drive to match the motherboard of your 360, or, as I chose to do, simply swap your old DVD circut into the new DVD drive.
$35 including shipping, $10 for a set of security Torx sockets, and I fixed my Xbox 360 for less than half of Microsoft's price.
If yours is less than 1 year old, send it in, if it is older than 1 year, this is a great choice. Be sure though that you or someone you know can solder, because once you break the seal, they don't have to fix it.

The DVD drive was said to be new,IT WAS NOT NEW!!warranty sticker was missing,eject button tab was broken,drive tray was out of wack, drive tray would not stay open. I believe your company is selling junk ,and you ought to be ashamed

As far as 360 dvd drives go I guess this one is good. It works and I had no trouble installing it. BenQ drives are way better than the Hitachi drives. That's all I got.

This is by far the best dvd drive you can get for the 360. This or the Lite-On is as good as you can get, this would be the better choice though if you are going for modding as it is a lot easier to flash.

Took 5 mins to flash and it worked. Flashed it with my original benq drive firmware so the 360 could recognize it. Works like new and its awesome!

Bought it because the price was right. Installed a couple of these in xbox's that i fixed for people and havnt had any complaints since. Simple as desoldering the old circuit board from the old drive and resoldering it into the new drive.

This BENQ drive worked perfectly for my friend's 360. Got it quickly and set it up with little work at all.

Product did not work at all tried to replAce my old drive same make and model but did not work at all with my xbox360

I bought this to revive a broken xbox 360, after I extracted my my key from my original broken drive I injected it into this new drive and WHOILA it worked great.... Now I have a working xbox again...... If you need a replacement drive then I suggest this Benq drive....

The drive may have been brand new, but the drawer/tray was a little sticky at first. Nothing a little lubricant couldn't fix. Otherwise, it was exactly as a described. Didn't have any other problems to speak of.

This is a great item I use them to replaced defective Hitachi/Samsung drives there junk and them lasers are always 3rd party junk on EBay this is the way to go there bulletproof in my opinion if your Samsung/Hitachi is going bad get this it's the most professional fix! Was in Brand New condition. It was packed safe, the shipping was quick too. Will definitely buy from here again.

I bought this drive to replace a defective TS-H943. The drive works as expected, however it is used or refurbished. When a drive is installed in an xbox 360, there is metalic tape used for gounding on the front. There was a cut piece of this leftover and attached to the drive from when it was removed from a 360. It is dissapointing that it was not "brand new" as advertized, however I'm pleased to say that it is in working order. The seller shouldn't be advertizing "brand new" though.

Best xbox 360 DVD drive because it's quiet and simple to spoof with no hasle of the lite-on key extractor.

works so far, just the same as my old broken one. :) i like it. quiet and fast. newer than the other drives.
