Turned my golf game around

For over 40 years I have been struggling with my golf game. Too many muffs, too many inconsistencies, too many terrible shots, but still enough good shots during a round to keep me playing. A friend (and playing partner) suggested that I read Ben Hogan's book. I found it on eBay for a small price, bought it and read it. The first of five fundamental lessons concerned a proper grip. I did not pay much attention because so far as I could tell my grip on the club was pretty much as described by Hogan. Then I reread the chapter and took out a 3 iron and practiced the suggested grip. I noted I would have to move my right hand around to the left to use the grip. The next time I played I tried the new, but uncomfortable grip. I shot 41, drove straight and long down the fairways, but missed a lot of greens because I was hitting all my irons longer than usual. I consistently misclubbed by one club until I figured out what was happening. I was amazed by the improvements in my game. This book will cure a golfer's ills if the other parts of his or her game (the stance, the backswing, the full swing) are otherwise in order.
