Ben Hogan Big Ben C455 Fairway Wood Golf Club

The club was purchased for a relative and he is completely satisfied with it. Ebay allowed this club to be purchased at a fraction of the MSRP which saved me money. The seller shipped the club immediately which allowed it to get there for Christmas.

Looking for a club that is easy to hit off the fairways? This club is it! Shallow face and flat sole plate, allows you to get the ball up without worrying about hitting a low screamer. Hogan quality and great shaft - What else can you say!

I bought the 3 wood with the aldila stiff shaft. The club sets up easily and the distance is wonderful. I am a 13 hcp and have found that this club is perfect for the 225-250 range. I now hit this off the tee (works for tiger) and regularly outdrive my playing buddies hitting their sasquatches and pings.
Too bad ben hogan (owned by callaway) is discontinuing the fairway woods and drivers.

I have the Ben Hogan Big Ben Fairway Woods #3-13 Strong, #3-15, #5-19, and #7-21. I love the #7 which goes 190-210 for me. With the Adila NV graphite shafts which sold for $90.00 by themselves, these woods were a good deal.

These woods have been discontinued by Callaway. Top Flite had these in the pipeline before Callaway purchased Ben Hogan. So, they released the C455 Woods and the Ben Hogan Big Ben Driver in 2004 and before the end of the year, they began to discount them. Now, you can't get any of the Ben Hogan Woods, nor Driver from the golf shops. Good thing we can these these C455's on eBay for a reasonable price.

I just purchased the C455 Strong 3-13 degree 3 Wood for hitting off the tee on shorter courses where I don't use my Driver. These woods are just as good as any other woods on the market.

Too bad Callaway has shuffled Ben Hogan. In 2006, they discontinued publishing the big Ben Hogan Catalogue, only to distribute the pocket size catalogue. When I complainted to Callaway and told them that I've been requesting the "big" catalogue for years...they send me a "Ben Hogan, The Man Behind the Mystic" coffee book to aplease me.

So, if you can still get Ben Hogan equipment on eBay, go for it.

Thsi club is very long and Straight. Thr green NV shaft has tons of carry and so easy to swing without over swinging for power, don't need to at all. I highly recommend this club. Really easy to hit off tee.

I am NOW 73 years old and my swing hasn't changed from last time I reviewed the 7 C455 wood. I owned a Ben Hogan CS-3 driver and 7 C455 wood, both with Adila SENIOR NV70-A shafts and have NOW purchased both a 3 and 5 Ben Hogan C455 woods with the ALDILA NV70-A shafts to match!!

The heads are stainless with a titanium insert face which resist rust and give a great feel when good contact is made. The heads have a beautiful dark blue metallic top with a small Ben Hogan emblem above the "sweet spot".

They, like the seven wood have small, thin profile heads which really "pop" the ball into the air and with a speed slot on the toe of the clubs help eleminate some air drag.

When I play them toward the center or back an inch or so like my irons, the SENIOR shafts really whip through the ball strike and there is solid FEEL when contact is made and the ball flight is STRAIGHT and true. The headcovers are attractive and colorful also with a grey, red, gold and silver Ben Hogan symbol.

I think I have FINALLY bought a set of woods which CAN last until I stop playing. Ben Hogan (now owned by Calloway and since out of manufacture) has done it again!!!

I purchased the 5 wood on eBay for under $75 and the 3 wood for $80. As you know that IS a bargain for quality woods.

It irks me that many clubs are sold without their headcovers. They come from the factory with them. Now I have to search for one and pay another $8.00 for shipping. Kida leaves a bad taste!!!!

Perfect balance for me,the grip seems very durable, shaft has the correct stiffness for my game. I feel I got a GREAT value in this club.

Good club, fair price, Shipping was bad by UPS. It took 5 dayes to go less than 500 miles, Another 2 days to cross US/Canada bourder. Total of 10 days not counting the 2 days before shipper got it to UPS.

This club looks great at set up. It is easy to hit. My last five wood was an older Cobra. This one is much better.

The Hogan Company has been bought and sold a number of times since Mr. Hogan owned it, but the quality of their clubs is still outstanding. I do not believe Callaway is still making clubs in the Hogan name, so you better snatch up what is out still out there. This 3 wood has a great feel. Perfect weight and is easy to hit.

clubhead was just the one I wanted. May have paid too much for it, but such is the nature of bidding auctions. Very satisfied with final product. Had it reshafted and now works like brand new.

This is a great fairway club. I hit straight balls with it up to 250 yds. I've used my friends' Callway X and TM Burner woods and all I can say is that my BH C455 is made well compared to the expensive drivers.

I got this club a few months ago and it has been great. I can hit a 25-130 yarder with it with no effort. I like the feel of the club. You should try one if you are a senior or a lady golfer. It is a perfect club for either.

If you are one of those guys that leave the driver in the bsg because you have diffigulty hitting it. Then I would definetly suggest buying this driver. Its sole pupose is fo tee off straight, low, and long. Its made for amatures who are just starting out and need a little confidence. You can adjust this driver too. Which is a big plus for me who normally tees off into another fairway and have to keep yelling fore. Please, this club is great and inexpensive with a huge sweet spot for generous forgiveness.

Product was in good shape and just what i was looking for. It better improve my golf game. Been looking for this club a long time and leave it to ebay to find it there.
