Beltronics Vector 985 Radar Detector

This is a great radar detector. In fact, it went off every single time my friends Valentine One did on a recent trip. The only shortfall is that the cord that comes with it is not very good and tends to fall apart after a couple of years of use, if left in the sun. Sometimes speakers may go out too, but that is an easy part to replace. If the price is below $90.00, don't be afraid to jump on this one.

This Beltronics v85 radar detector is excellent! It has most of the features of the higher end models and certainly does'nt lack in sensitivity or selectivity. I especially like the selectable features, and I turn off x band,(your choice!) and use K & Ka bands, which along with laser is almost exclusively used for speeding detection here in the united states. I recently tested it on a 600 mile trip and although I was not speeding, it detected 4 different highway patrol k radar bands, well before the officer's car was in sight. Also in construction zones, where your oncoming speed is displayed on a digital readout sign, the detector warned of these signs well before I could see them, one even around a curve up ahead...great detector!
