Beltronics Vector 995

After reading reviews for over a week and actually buying two Beltronics 995 units and an Escort Passpost 8500 X50, I must decide which unit to keep. I owned an Escort Passport in the distant past, and don't know what ever happened to it, but the technology has changed so much. The Beltronics seems to be a nicer unit. It just feels more solid, and is slightly smaller than the Escort. As some people know, the two companies recently combined, and both of these units is built on the same framework.. I think the Escort falses more than the Beltronics, but I think they are very similar in performance. The main reason I think I will stay with the Beltronics is the Ku Band. Passport doesn't have it, and it is not used in the USA yet, but if you travel internationally, you might have use for it. I haven't had these units side by side in my car long enough to tell which is the better unit, so I am premature in writing this review, but looks like Escort is coming out witha new unit named the Redline, and it appears it will be the one to beat in the future, but, for now if you are looking for a sub $200.00 unit on the used market, I would choose the Beltronics Vector 995, witha close second going to the Escort Passport 8500 X50. As I get more to report, I'll do so, but I think both units are great for the used pricepoint you can find on eBay. Both doa great job on x, K, Ka, Laser, and for the Bel Ku. I'll keep you all up to date as I have more to report.
