I work from my home office as a webmaster. When I purchased a laptop in 2006 I wanted to be able to work wirelessly from the deck or a bedroom.
I purchased this router and found it very easy to install, set up security and operate. I have a strong signal anywhere in my home (3,000 sq ft) and when outside, as far as 25 feet from the house.
I operate this Belkin router with a cable modem. The only time it needs attention is when the power is interrupted. The router reboots faster than the cable modem. The router searches for the modem and can not find it because the modem is still booting. When this happens I unplug the router until the modem is ready, plug it back in and I'm back in business.
Belkin also has free technical support which is always a benefit.

) Great little unit! Easy to set up! Provides 4 wired ports as well as Wi-Fi ability! All in one unit, no switch needed! I am also very pleased with signal strength in bedrooms of this apartment, no negligible loss, and fast internet on all! The Belkin line was my choice due to substantial savings in cost compared to other major brands! I am only giving this unit a 4 star rating (good) because there are better models available from Belkin, at least due to cost I assume they are better, and I am new to home wi-fi components and their use. Bottom line, I had things up and running in an hour! No problems! :)
