I first read Belinda many years ago and come back to read it again every 5 or 6 years. This is actually a adult or teenage fantasy love story and you need to suspend reality and judgment to enjoy it to the fullest. Such a story could happen in the real world but not with the fantastic imagination of Anne Rice guiding the events. This one should be put aside after the first reading. One day you will want to read it again.
