Wealth and cheap romance overshadows substance
Nothing since "A Woman of Substance" comes close to it in character development and 'can't lay it down' suspense. I have every book written by Barbara Taylor Bradford and I love fantasizing about the world of the rich and pompous but would never yearn to be part of it. These modern characters in "Being Elizabeth" lack the depth and fortitude of their ancesters unfortunately.
