Behind the Paint (2004, Hardcover)

Decided to buy this book because I have been a long time closet fan, went to Hallowicked in Indianapolis this year for my first ever show and LOVED IT. Wanted to know more about the origins of the band after finding out they have a religious influence?? The book has not been a let down in the least

This is a good read about ICP and the origin of Violent Jay. I received it at a good price, but when I'm done I'll put it back on eBay. It isn't a keeper that's for sure. Nothing I want my kids reading.

basically,this book came out in 2003,and has been impossible to find.The few places I did find it(including amazin),people were charging upwards of 50 dollars for it.The Insane Clown Posse may be disliked or misunderstood by a lot of people,but they have been a major influence to me,and,after reading this story(written by Violent J himself)I truly feel i have a deeper understandimg of where they came from and what they've been through that made them such an outstanding group today.

A great read. Now, as superficial as ICP can seem to be to some, this book digs deeply into the life and mind of Violent J and explains to the reader HOW and WHY ICP does what it does. This book is incredibly honest and forthcoming about Violent J's history; from childhood to manhood to obtaining fame as a rapper. I would recommend this book TO ANY ASPIRING MUSICIAN. REGARDLESS OF WHAT TYPE OF MUSIC YOU PLAY! Everything from childhood memories to humble beginnings to marketing strategies are covered, and if you've ever been to a ICP / Psychopathic show, you've seen how fans will spent x3 as much on merch as they do on the ticket to get into the show! These boys did something very right; BUY THIS RARE-AND-OUT-OF-PRINT BOOK AND FIND OUT WHAT THEY DID AND HOW THEY DID IT!
