Best of Class
If you are interested in learning the database nuances of Visual Basic this book is the best of class. After searching and reading many writings on the subject this met all my requirements. Being a programmer and more recently a tutor, I found it difficult to explain the relationships of the terminology pertaining to Visual Basic's DOA and ADO in a manner which students would understand. This book gave me a different approach that works very well -- as well as providing students with the best reference I could find (I have purchased multiple copies for my students).
Connell's presentation is excellent. The author imparts not only Microsoft's approach to database technology but an overall feel for all database fundamentals. The book was first published in 1998 and republished again in 2003 (by Apress). It remains a beacon today.
