Movie Description The dobro is a little known instrument in the bluegrass family. Developed in the 1820s by a family of Czech immigrants--the word "dobro" is an anagram formed from their name, the Dopera brothers--it is a kind of resonating guitar that is played flat on the lap. Today it is an accepted part of many bluegrass ensembles, and the demand for dobro players is on the rise. This tutorial helps students start off on the right foot, familiarizing them with bar technique, pick technique, chimes, trills and bending strings, hammer-ons and pull-offs, rhythm chops, pacing, and much, much more.
