Movie Description Instructor Dan Huckabee has spent his life acquiring the musical skill and expertise that he loves to share with his students. After earning a degree in music from the University of North Texas, he played with the likes of Lyle Lovett, Nancy Griffith, and the Allman Brothers. He has won the national Dobro Championship, and today he teaches at the University of Texas. Dan was also the founder of the Musician's Workshop.
The format of this home tutorial allows students to tailor the lesson to their needs, repeating things and moving on at their own pace, while Dan teaches everything necessary to begin as a stand-up bass player in a country, bluegrass, or folk band. He covers note location, scales, basic music theory, chord progression, right and left hand technique, how to follow a guitar player, and much much more. The song list includes "Wabash Cannonball," "Mountain Dew," "Foggy Mountain Breakdown," and "Roll in my Sweet Baby's Arms," among many others.
