Movie Description BEER LEAGUE: Artie DeVanzo (Artie Lange) is a loveable loser whose New Jersey softball team is about to be expelled from the league. One too many on-field fights has alerted the authorities to DeVanzo and his boozy ways, and the team must put a winning streak together to salvage their status. Meanwhile, DeVanzo's off-field life starts to improve after he meets and falls in love with a local girl, who is attracted to him despite the fact that he still lives with his parents and is a hopeless alcoholic. The film builds to an amusing climax as the members of the softball team get their act together and start to rise through the ranks.
FIFTY PILLS: Indie prince Lou Taylor Pucci (THUMBSUCKER) plays Darren, a college student who will do anything to pay his tuition after losing his scholarship. Desperation turns the normally naive teen into a drug dealer as his only hope is to sell 50 Ecstasy pills in one day. The premise may sound dire, but this is a comedy of errors as Darren must deal with a host of comically shady characters, including his worldly roommate (John Hensley, NIP/TUCK). Kristen Bell (VERONICA MARS) plays the object of Darren's desire--and perhaps his real reason for wanting to stay in school.
