In "Bedrooms and Hallways", a shy British Darren (Tom Hollander) urges a lonesome Leo (Kevin McKidd) to become more socially active. Leo's neighbor Angie (Julie Graham), coincidentally gives him the exact same advice. Another of Leo's friends, Adam (Christopher Fulford), urges he enter a therapy group led by guru Keith (Simon Callow).
Leo meets a handsome Irishman Brendan (James Purefoy), who's just ended a long business partnership with Sally (Jennifer Ehle). Sally was Leo's high-school sweetheart! Small world. Leo and Brendan become an item.
Rose Troche directed the British romantic comedy in London using a variety of gay characters. This film was aired at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival.
