The only animated film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Like many other Disney films, it was such a shame the category of Best Animated Film was not done for this year. Never get tired of watching the film. I do enjoy the DVD version of the film. I always enjoy making of & behind the scenes segments. Review ID: 10000000000007767 Was this review helpful? I've always loved the underdog and this time is no exception. If you haven't seen this movie I highly recommend it! It's one that belongs in every movie collection. -Holly =] Review ID: 10000000000003929 Was this review helpful? It's the most beautiful love story ever told. I can't even remember the spaghetti western, but it seems the academy does these things, like giving out awards for pictures of yesteryear like "Chicago", I guess it reminds them of the old days. A top-notch fairy tale with its appeal evenly divided between adults and children, as well as the child in all of us. If you have never seen this movie, it's a must see, and if you own a library, this should be there. It would please everyone, even those who say they didn't like it, secretly they did. With it's all-star cast featuring Richard White, Jerry Orbach, David Ogden Stiers and Angela Lansbury, as well as it's spectacular music, which did win awards, "Beauty and the Beast" is sure to delight future generations.
