Like many other Disney films, it was such a shame the category of Best Animated Film was not done for this year.
Never get tired of watching the film.
I do enjoy the DVD version of the film. I always enjoy making of & behind the scenes segments.

This picture should have won the academy award instead of "Unforgiven" for best picture. It's the most beautiful love story ever told. I can't even remember the spaghetti western, but it seems the academy does these things, like giving out awards for pictures of yesteryear like "Chicago", I guess it reminds them of the old days. A top-notch fairy tale with its appeal evenly divided between adults and children, as well as the child in all of us. If you have never seen this movie, it's a must see, and if you own a library, this should be there. It would please everyone, even those who say they didn't like it, secretly they did. With it's all-star cast featuring Richard White, Jerry Orbach, David Ogden Stiers and Angela Lansbury, as well as it's spectacular music, which did win awards, "Beauty and the Beast" is sure to delight future generations.

I HAVE LOVED THIS MOVIE SINCE I WAS A CHILD AND I AM GLAD THAT I CAN SHARE THIS BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY WITH MY CHILDREN ITS SUCH A GREAT MOVIE WITH A GREAT MESSAGE THAT I THINK IS REALLY IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE TO LEARN! I KNOW MY CHILDREN AND I WATCH THIS MOVIE ALL THE TIME TOGETHER!

I love this movie. It is such a great movie. The characters in this movie are great. Chip the little teapot is one of my favorites. This movie is a very entertaining movie to watch but what is also important and alot of times forgotten is that children movies should teach a lesson. This one teaches you that there is always beauty in someone. That you should never judge someone based on thier appearance and first impressions. This is also a movie that any boy or girl would absolutly love. Alot of movies tend to appeal to one gender more then another. This will appeal to both your little boy and your little girl.

Beauty and the Beast is by far the best of the "new" Disney movies. I fell in love with this movie from the first time I saw it during its original run in the theaters. This movie is an absolutely stunning masterpiece. I recommend it to anyone.

A must see for any Family a wonderful, funny, happy movie and anyone can watch it anyone can even sing to it I enjoy that part myself as a Mother ha-ha
Belle is a wonderful happy helpful person and has a big heart and helps the Beast when no one else will. In the end all Belles dreams come true so you have to watch it and I am sure you will agree it's a BRILLIANT Disney Movie for any Family to own.

Wow, One of Disneys Top 2 - Only surpassed in beauty by the Lion King it's self... Anyone who doesn't watch this should be beaten in the street for all to see -- Really!!

I LOVED THE DVD BECAUSE IT ALLOWED ONE TO COME OUT OF HIMSELF FOR A WHILE AND KNOW THAT ANY THING CAN BE OVERCOME WITH LOVE. I LOVED THE MUSIC, THE DANCING, IT DEMONSTRATED THAT BEAUTY COME FROM WITHIN. AGOOD LESSON FOR THE KIDS. I BOUGHT IT FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE REASONS

This is a must have. You and your kids will want to watch it over and over again. Best to have on DVD because it will be worn out on video. Great music.

This is one of the best movies made by Disney adn was an instant classic when created. This movie won an Oscar and deservedly so. It is a classic and timeless story updated with humor and is enjoyable for any person in the family. The digital effects added to the drawn adn painted cells are seamless and bring the movie to a new level.

This movie is a must have for families and timeless.

The second of the Menken/Rice masterpieces - the first being The Little Mermaid, and the third being Aladdin.

I absolutely love the score on this one - it defines the movie. All of the instrumental components are worthy of any of the best classical composers - in 50 years, this will be seen as one of the high points of 20th century animation.

This movie basically introduced CG to the animation world - it contains some of the first CG I ever saw on the big screen - it was ground-breaking technically as well as artistically.

I enjoyed this 15 years ago - I still enjoy it today. So will you!

i like alot of disney movies but on top of all them this one is my favorite!!!! i love the music charectors, story, and well every thing!!! i HIGHLY recommend this to all!

I have four boys and one little girl who is 3. We have decided that there are certain types of movies that we choose not to buy for her. The unrealistic, dependent stereotyping of women needing men to exist or rescue them is one. This movie teaches none of that. More importantly, it teaches to judge people on who they are inside and not what they may or may not have in regards to physical attributes, monetary etc. I think if children grew up with more of these types of values, or even adults learned this lesson, the world would be a much better place to live in.

The artistry, the music, the story alone make this one of the best animated films of all time. I grew up on this film and today I watch it with my son. He too now loves the story of Belle and the Beast. The story is one of love that is timeless.

Belle is bored with life in her village. Her only escape is her books, and she longs to have an adventure of her own. When her father heads out to a fair, he gets lots, and Belle finds him in an enchanted castle. The objects are thrilled, because if she and their master, the Beast, fall in love, they will all be freed from the enchantment. But will Belle be able to see past the outward appearance? And what about the handsome bore back home who wants to marry Belle?
I feel in love with this movie the first time I saw it, and that love has only grown over the years. The story is the right mix of fun and uncertainty. Gaston was a wonderful addition to the mix because his story was the part I was most uncertain about the first time around. The artwork on the film catches your eye from the first shot of the castle, and doesn't let go. Beside the incredible background shots are wonderful drawings of the characters. I especially love the boyish excitement they manage to give the Beast in several scenes. Finally, there's the music. Every song adds to the story and is memorable in its own right.

This DVD is perfect for any fan of this movie. Disc 1 includes three versions of the film. The first is the "in progress" version shown to the New York film festival 6 weeks before the premier of the movie in 1991. While it's fun to have, I won't be watching it regularly. The second version is the original release. And finally comes the special edition, with the added scene and "Human Again." Ironically, this is probably my least favorite of the songs added to the Broadway version, but it does advance the story. And, there's always the option of watching the original version. Obviously, the version that you are supposed to watch is the special edition, as the audio commentary and sing along bonus features only work with this option. All three come in Dolby 5.1 sound, which sounds great.

The second disc features hours of bonus material. Most of it focuses on the making of this movie. Everything is covered, from original idea through characters and the Broadway version and special edition. Galleries show character designs over the course of the project. Also featured is the original treatments for "Human Again" and "Be Our Guest." Celebrity voices give background on the original story and Disney versions of classic tales. And there's a fun documentary as the stars of "Even Stevens" take a backstage look at all the work that goes into making a feature animated film.

This is the only film so far to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture. Watching the film, the reason is clear. This is something the entire family can enjoy. Don't miss your opportunity to catch this classic film.

This is a heart warming movie that is romantic, heartwarming, and will leave you breathless. It will make you go out and buy the soundtrack because you'll want to playback the songs in the movie again and again. Makes a great addition to anyone's Disney Collection. I would recomment to everyone.

My daughter's love this movie. It even made them read the book! They were excited for Belle in this movie and they loved the talking furniture!

Amust watch for all children and is a great little show for the schools. My kids (2 little boys) we mesmerized and have to show it to all their friends. I am hoping to show it in thier classrooms soon
