Beautiful Sheep by Kathryn Dun (2008, Paperback)

I am an avid sheep breeder and interested in sheep photography. This is the first time this book was available here in the US. Amazon was only taking orders for this piece for future delivery, so eBay had the volume first. I couldn't pass it up! The book did not disappoint. Very unusual sheep breeds are depicted, but unfortunately my breed the Dorset Horn was not shown. The book specifies that not all breeds are represented, but I had hoped to see the horned dorset. Breeds shown are those available in the United Kingdom and some are not available in the United States, so these photos were of interest to me. The photographer placed each sheep up on a platform and pictured them in front of a drape. Sheep were groomed somewhat, but I was alarmed to see many of the sheep's feet/hooves had not been cleaned and were covered in mud and debris. That was an odd one to see these beautiful sheep with filthy hooves! If you like sheep and are interested in breeds that are unusual and not seen in the U.S. this book will be of interest to you. It is a picture book and a lovely coffee table piece. IF YOU LOVE SHEEP THIS ONE'S FOR EWE!
