Beautiful People: The Greatest Hits of Melanie by Melanie (Singer/Songwriter) (CD, Jul-1999, Buddha Records)

Bought this to replace some of my music that was lost in my LP's years ago. Love every note. Melanie's got an awesome voice and delivery.

'Beautiful People: The Greatest Hits of Melanie' is a fairly complete collection of Melanies' greatest hits. Best known for the #1 hit 'Brand New Key', Melanie shows the wide range of her singer/songwriter/guitarist abilities on this CD.

Included is the unabridged version of the amazing 'Lay Down (Candles in
the Rain)', a gosepl sing-along with the Edwin Hawkins singers back-up.
'Beautiful People' is also an amazing song, as are 'Summer of Love II',
'Ruby Tuesday', 'What Have They Done to My Song, Ma?', 'Leftover Wine' and
'Animal Crackers'.

Melanie is more that a 'one-hit wonder'. From folk to gospel to pop -
Melanie did it all. A nice representation of the late 60's and early 70's
folk/hippie sounds, this CD certainly is nostalgic and pleasant to the
ear.

I bought this CD to add to my collection of 'era' music.

There seems to be a mix up here. This particular purchase was a Phisher scam. I lost the money I paid and was NOT refunded by pay pal! but did get an e mail warnning from e bay of this purchase of phisher scam that hooked me and scamed me. This is my sad review on this. The scammer stole the seller ID and then dropped off e bay like a bad penney no where to be found. How ever --- Master card DID refund my money, NO thanks to pay pal! my advise, always ask seller questions through e bay, never through an e mail , NEVER ! it will open the gates for a scammer!

I was looking for Melanie whom I loved listening to in the 60s-70s.Loved those songs and they brought back good memories.She is very easy going and nature loving.Remember to eat your animal crackers!
