The Beatles: Rock Band (Xbox 360, 2009)

This game is a lot of fun! I've been playing the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games for awhile, now. I'm really comfortable playing "medium" difficulty, but feel like I should step up to the hard mode....but it's just too hard! When you add the extra button into the mix, it's a little overwhelming. Not the case with the Beatles Rock Band, I can play most of the songs on hard. This way I can get used to the extra button and the spread out "chords" before going back to attempt songs like "Jordan" or "Hangar 18" on Guitar Hero II, on hard difficulty. I recommend this game for all ages and abilities. The "oldtimers" will know the music by heart...the "youngbloods" will take it to heart. The harmonizing of voices is very cool too. If you already have the controllers...just buy the software only....no need for the "vintage" drums or guitars. The older peripherals play just fine.

I love the graphics. It makes we wish I could just watch what is going on while I am trying to make it through the songs. It has made me miss some easy notes because I get to watching the background and miss the notes. But it is worth it, I love the Beatles and Dhani Harrison (George's son) who designed this really captured the look and feel of those days. I'm sure his dad would more than approve of this venture...Well done young man. I couldn't find anything that I hated or disliked about this game. Whether or not you're a Beatles fan or not you will enjoy this game. But if you're a big Beatles fan like me, YOU NEED TO GET THIS!

The Beatles: Rock Band isn't for everyone. Like, say, people who don't care about The Beatles. If that's you, then move along. For those who have a love or even just a fondness for the Fab Four, Harmonix has created a fantastic tribute. It won't teach you the full history of the world's most celebrated band nor give you even a quarter of their extraordinary catalogue of music, but it's still great. The Beatles went out of their way to do new things. So it's no surprise that a Beatles game doesn't feel at all like the traditional music title. It's special. What Beatles fan would want it any other way?

A unique experience to be sure, but it would have been perfect with a bit more history built into the Story mode.

Stunning and imaginative. The venues are accurate, The Beatles are spot-on and the Dreamscapes are magical getaways from reality.

The Beatles have never sounded so good. The screams of crazed fans gives a sense of what it was like to play Shea Stadium in the '60s.
9.0 Gameplay
The same great Rock Band style, but with the addition of vocal harmonies. Rock Band aficionados may find some of it too easy.
8.0 Lasting Appeal
Its biggest flaw is the small library. Though you get 45 great songs, it's still only 45 songs -- many of which are under three-minutes long.

Basically, if you love the Beatles this is the game for you! Love the background colors when you play very Beatles. I like the way you can have three vocals at one time! Great play fun for the family! It is a good way to get a vibe of who the Beatles where and their different types of music!

Great game, have a variety of Beatles Songs. Not that many songs though. Fun, cool and interesting story line. Has many features from pictures to stories to limited edition items from the Beatles era. Really good game. Love the Beatles

this game brings you back to the time of LOVE and FLOWERS (LOL). Rock Band did a great job on this game, they brought the family together and are showing another generation what REAL MUSIC is.

I feel this game is a very good game. There is only one thing i would change on it and that would be to make the drums be able to do free style fills like in the other rock bands. Other then that i feel this game really catches the magic of the Beatles and i love all the songs.

Bought this for my husband for Christmas. We love it! He plays, I sing. My husband plays Rockband a lot and usually I don't know the lyrics to many of the songs, but this time I'm getting 100% on Expert! It was easy to find and an easy transaction. The game is the most fun to play of all Rock Band and Guitar Hero games because not only are the songs finally songs that everyone can enjoy, but the songs are at a perfect difficulty. I play on expert, and actually have fun while playing a song, instead of getting angry because the parts are so unbelievably difficult.

Seriously, any music game fan will love this game.

The music is better and more consistent than the other Rock Band games. The other games have only a few songs that I enjoy. The Beatles has a lot of the very good songs and only a few of the not so popular ones. Also, the ability to harmonize with up to 3 mics is great! I would like it better if I could have 3 mics, 2 guitars, and the drums all connected at the same time. There seems to be a limit of only four device connections at time.

This is so cool to sing with the Beatles. It makes you feel like you are part of the band. Thank you to the people who made this possible. How creative and even better than singing along with the albums.

If you are a fan of The Beatles, you should buy this game. If you are a fan of Rock Band, you should buy this game. It is fantastic. I also love that all of their songs are going to be available for download and play soon.

I decided to buy it as a christmas present for my fiances younger brothers and sisters. All they do is play it. THey love it. Although they say it is harder than the other rock band games because the songs are a little slower so its hard to keep the beat when theyre use to the faster songs.

Nephews love the game. It was a Christmas present for them. They have played and played it. Have not heard anything bad about it from them.

Here's our opinion thus far. My son (age 13) and I (age 51) have been playing Beatles Rock Band on xBox 360. I NEVER usually get involved in his xBox games, but I am a Beatles fan from long long ago and know all of the songs well enough to sing them. It's a lot of fun singing the songs and my family doesn't care if I sound terrible. My son has been playing the drum part. We have no one for the guitar part, so we can not comment on that.

Regarding the vocal component of Beatles Rock Band, it most definitely helps to be familiar with Beatles songs. You can't just sing them any way you want. During a song, there's a crawl along the top that you have to follow that shows the words to the song, how long each note should last, inflections, "yeahs" and "oohs" etc. If you don't follow the crawl at the top, your score will drop. The closer you can sing to the crawl, the higher the score will be. This is NOT just a casual karaoke sing. It's a bit of a challenge, so knowing the Beatles songs ahead of time definitely helps. For each song, there are Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert levels to choose from.

Regarding the drums for Beatles Rock Band, my son had a bit of a problem with them when we first played the game. There's an option in the game to calibrate the drums. Most definitely use that option! It turns out that he calibrated incorrectly at first and couldn't understand why the drumming wasn't working. We had to recalibrate. The resulting numbers were VERY different the second time around, but the drums finally worked correctly.

As I mentioned, we haven't tried the guitar component yet, so can not comment on that fairly.

ALL IN ALL, I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND BEATLES ROCK BAND. My 13 year old is only a little familiar with Beatles music, but still enjoys the game. If you like the Beatles, you will LOVE this game.

This game is awesome! The songs on it are great (obviously). From the graphics to the story, this is a well-made game that is fun for all members of the family, regardless of age. The Beatles are my favorite band and I couldn't have asked for a better tribute to them!

The collection of Beatles songs are combined with great animation and is put together professionally. People that didnt grow up listening to the Beatles will also appreciate this. This was worth the money and will provide alot of fun for the whole family.
