Back in 1998, when New Orleans Beatles-fan Bruce Spizer decided to go ahead and write his very first book about the American-released records by The Beatles on the Vee-Jay label, little did he know that this one-shot tome about a much-misunderstood chapter in The Beatles' legacy would eventually flourish into what is perhaps the very best series of books about The Beatles ever written. This book soley focuses on every single and album issued on the Vee-Jay label, plus the subsidiary Tollie and Oldies 45 labels as well. Inckuded are images of every known existing album cover, picture sleeve, record label and all related promotional items pertaining to these releases. It is amazing how only 16 Beatles master recordings were spread out through so many record releases. There is also a fascinating chapter on how Vee-Jay lost the rights to release any more Beatles records when Capitol eventually took over for good. With the book 'Songs, Pictures And Stories Of The Fabulous Beatles Records On Vee-Jay', Mr. Spizer has published a definitive masterpiece that every Beatles fan and book lover should not be without. He would eventually succeed even further with books about the records released on the Capitol, Apple and Swan labels. But, it is this first book of his that started it all. There is so much attention to detail depicted within these pages. A must-have piece of reading!
