The Beales Of Grey Gardens (DVD, 2006)

The Edies of this life may seem far fetching, but the simpleness of it all is clear that this may be more rampant then we may all think. The mother died one year after this films debut. This documentary including Jacquline Kennedy and Grey Gardens bringing to mind all the joys we face yet the intersting way that loneliness can also preserve life in such a moment. Grey Gardens will bring sadness and a chance to understand perseverance.

Great film to watch on a sunday afternoon. The East Hamptons seems opened but at the same time underminded. 5*****

A mother daughter relationship which has voids but in the end each will comfort souls. Two peas in a pod after everyone else leaves and never considers that love has a huge price to pay.

This is a great documentary of two very quirky gals. To me it showed just because you have money...which they came from but no longer have, can't buy you class. Jacquline Kennedy had Grey Gardens brought up to code many years ago when it was in danger of the wrecking ball. But bringing it up to code and decorating are two very different things. One can only imagine the grande manor it once was. But the real topic of this excellent documentary is the two gals. Edie and her mother. Mother still rules and continues pushing Edie's buttons she installed so long ago. All very amusing.
I was intrigued by a review I read on a book about the girls and seeing a clip from the Broadway show titled "Grey Gardens'. So when I found this documentary I very happy so I purchased it and and was not let down. It made me want to know more about the Beales.

Another glimpse into the lives of Edith and her daugher. If you loved The Grey Gardens then you will love this sequel put together from additional never before seen footage by the same creators of the first film.

Jackie O's wacky aunt and cousin living in a 28 room house full of wild racoons, cats and fleas. they almost got evicted from there own home. until JACKIE'O steps in to save them from homelessness. I love this dvd you can watch it twenty times and always notice something new. It's a must see! The film is way before it's time especially today when everything on television is reality based. You can help but to love both beales who had a love hate relationship.

Great follow-up to the original. Very interesting and informative. Do your research upfront on the internet so you are aware of these ladies background and how they fall into the Jackie O. scheme of things.

get this and the new one to see how incredible the original characters are portrayed by the actresses. (lange even won an award) and who doesnt like to find out more about the lives of the people fortunate enough to live in the hamptons anyway....

this is one of the most amazing haunting movies I have ever seen.....everyone must see this true story of love hate and how anyone, no matter their station in life, and live a sad sad life.

This is Grey Gardens revisited. Very honest and frank about the two women residing in this old run down house. They lived in poverty with their memories of the good years past. They show courage and hope during this trying time of their lives. You can not help but feel in awe of their situation.

More unbelievably bizarre yet wonderful footage from the Maysles' portrayal of Edie & Edie !! I decided to buy this because I just had to have more after getting hooked on the 1st DVD.
I highly recommend this if you are already a fan of the mother and daughter !

I was intrigued by the first documentary on the Beales of Grey Gardens that I had to see the second one. I think I would have liked to have been friends with Little Edie Beale. The seller of the dvd sent it to me very quickly and Im delighted with the purchase.
