Very interesting how Cesar compares our behavior to our dogs behavior. Has lots of helpful information about the right way to train your dog and for you to be the pack leader. I would suggest it for new parents of children. Rules, bounderies, limitations, then affection. It's amazing! I loved it.

I decided to buy it for my husband because we found the "Dog Whisperer" on cable, the author's dog training show on tv, and we've become addicted to it. He trained a dalmation to go on the treadmill, and we now put our golden retriever puppy (now over a year old) on the treadmill for exercise, too! She loves it, and my husband has a 20 minute program set up especially for her. Cesar Millan is a very patient teacher who "listens" to each individual dog owner before training them to train their own dog. Have never seen a better trainer, and look forward to reading the book myself.

) I bought "Be the Pack Leader" by Ceasar Millan because I have just purchased an Olde English Bulldoggie puppy. He is going to grow into a big, powerful adult male and I want to establish that I am the Pack Leader at a very early age. Ceasar's book is packed full of good, thoughtful advice to help me do just that. Ceasar thinks like a dog-I honestly believe that he is part canine. Thanks for a great book!

Cesar is a genius! I've read dozens of books on dog training and they don't even measure up.
This book is a "MUST HAVE" for any/all of us that love dogs.
I think that some of the poor reviews come from the fact that the handler/owner is NOT following directions.
I have always had Dobermans. They can be a bit stubborn, but this book has changed all that for me!!

A dog care manual for everyone. Everyone should be required to read this before adopting a dog into their home/pack, as it's us who are usually the problem, not the dog, in that we don't know what to do or how to react to a dog's 'inappropriate' or unwanted behavior. Beyond this book though, one should hire an animal behaviorist like Cesar Millan to come to their home to actually show you how to apply all these wonderful concepts. The rewards will be more than you ever imagined (and ever knew existed).

I am a big fan of Ceasar Milan and love his books. If you truly want to understand your dog and yourself, read this book. After reading the book I understand better why dogs do some of the things that they do and how easy it is for us to change our behavior to be a true pack leader.

You cannot go wrong with ANY product by Cesar Millan. He is the Zen Master of correcting problem dogs & their owners. Books, Videos, TV Shows or if you get REAL lucky a personal visit, all will help solve your problem with your pooch.

Cannot give good review because I never received the book. We got a rescue dog in Feb and wanted to use Cesar's rules and guidelines for introducing the dog to our home and lifestyle. But, as I've already said, never received the book

I decided to buy it because of the Cesar´s Millan show Dog Whisperer and also because ive bought the other book Cesar´s Way. I wanted to have both and am currently reading them. This book is also great and is about how to connect the different parts of your mind with your dog´s, how to become a pack leader helps you in your daily life and with your dog. Its awesome.

I love the book its well written and worded. It really works, at least the things I have tried. still have a ways to go.I really wanted to get the book because, I love his show he is so good with the dogs, even the ones I would be deathly afraid of. He makes sense. Its amazing!

As a foster mom for a small dog rescue group, watching Cesar's TV programs and DVDs has helped us tremendously with our work with the dogs. I often share these DVDs with adoptive families so they can get off on the right foot with their new family member. Cesar is a calm, relaxed teacher who is an excellent example of how a true leader should behave. I have tried everything else, and nothing has brought so much peace to our home as Cesar's teachings.

I like the book because it gives you a different approach to training dogs to be suitable for socialization. It gives lots of examples on how he turned around otherwise unstable dogs. I bought the book to try to learn other methods of training other than the reward system. I am just trying to get many ideas and try to use various ways with my Newfoundlands. I encourage people to check out several possible ways of training. This book seems to be more on energy and lots of time walking or running with your dog.

I bought this book on CD and listen to it over and over as I drive to work. I makes me take a hard look at myself to see how what I do effects my dog. This book is very insightful and helpful. I like that he refers to other books and research that back up what he is talking about. I've also purchased some of the other books he refers to in order to explore further. It's also clear that some bad habits (mine and my dogs) will time and take patience to overcome. At least I'm on the right path!

I bought the book to see if it would help me with training....no such luck...couldn't get anything to work with my pup...maybe someone will have better luck. A little boring..rather watch TV program.

i PURCHASED THIS BOOK FOR MY WIFE. WE ENJOY THE TV SHOW, AND I THOUGHT IT WOULD HELP US TO TRAIN OUR 2 YEAR OLD LAB. IT IS A GOOD READ, BUT SOMETIMES I THINK THE LAB REGRETS WE EVER BOUGHT THE BOOK:).........THE RESULTS ARE COMING WITH TIME AND PATIENCE THOUGH.
