This book is one of the best purchases I have ever made on ebay. Being a collector, buyer and a seller of vintage military bayonets, I need a good source of information regarding these valuable, sometimes rare bayonets. There is bayonet information out there to find, but you have to look in many different places and sources to find out the information you need. This book has greatly improved my ability to aquire information in a timely manner in regards to all aspects of bayonet collecting. The author has listed countless countries and just about all the bayonets that country has used from day one, in exacting detail. Its easy to find out when a certain type of bayonet was produced, who produced it, and the complete history of just about any given bayonet. The pages are full of excellent quality color photographs to identify whatever bayonet you are uncertain about. There is nothing better than having and getting answers to questions that you might have about bayonets that you come across and that you are collecting. Because every country in the world has used bayonets as part of their military forces, it can be very confusing at times in regards to identifying and cataloging them. But this book is simple to use and navigate, and the pages are full of anything and everything you might want to know about a certain bayonet. Also included are other subjects like caring for collectable bayonets and how to build up your collection, so it will last for years to come. Tips for buying bayonets, and precautions about counterfeit or reproduction bayonets that you might come across in the course of buying bayonets at military or gun shows and simple flea markets or garage sales. There is alot to learn if you want to get into the world of collecting and selling military bayonets, and I am convinced that anyone who decides to purchase this book, would be extremely grateful that they did decide to make the purchase. The wealth of history and knowledge goes well beyond the monetary value of the book, and in my opinion, you cannot put a absolute price on that. This book is in my hands at least once a week, every week, and many times much more. Its hard to believe that I collected and sold bayonets for so long without the use of this fine publication, and can only wonder what additional gains might have stepped my way, if I had use of this book. I would greatly recommend that anyone who is into military bayonets like I am, acquire this book for their use to simplify and navigate through the sometimes difficult world of military bayonet collecting. My only regret is that I did not purchase this book sooner. So purchase this fine book, I guarantee you will not be sorry you did. Adam Richards zz24adam

This wonderful book is alive with glossy full color photographs of various bayonets from all over the world with a history of several variations of many bayonets. Well written, well presented & a fantastically illustrated book.

If you collect bayonets, or just have an interest in bayonets, this is a must have book for your reference.

Great book,losts of colored photos and detailed info,recommend this book for collectors.Some of the bayonets shown have not been seen outside a collection in years.
