Battlestar Galactica - Season 2.5 "THE BEST TV SHOW!!"

Without a doubt, the Sci-Fi Channel’s Battlestar Galactica is one of the best new series on television, and even manages to rises above the original series. The show blends classic science fiction elements with political elements that would easily fit in today’s world. You really do not need to be a SciFi fan to enjoy it..the stories, although set in space, are very well written and it does not take long to become a fan.
The series broke new ground in science fiction with its debut season, and the second season proves the show is only getting better. Season 2.5 will leave you counting the hours until the Season Three premiere on Oct. 6th.
Season 2.5 (which I do feel should have been included with Season 2.0 for a single collection of the entire Season Two) nicely picks up right where the 2.0 collection left off with Galactica and the colony ships discovering the Battlestar Pegasus only to have the reunion not go as happy as planned.
Admiral Cain (Michelle Forbes) has double-crossed Commander Adama (Edward James Olmos) and the two ships are about to fight. The 2.5 season starts off as pressure cooker, and that tension doesn’t let up throughout the remaining episodes.
This season has a little bit of everything in it – from politics and the black market to romance triangles and classic sci-fi action. The series strengths continue to be its clever writing, solid special effects, and its ensemble cast of actors.
The plots range from classic science fiction (such as massive space battles and dogfights between the Vipers and the Cylon Raiders); continued political tension (such as the presidential race that gets a little dirty, and the introduction of a ban on abortion); and the struggle for the last remaining humans to hang on to their humanity (as seen in the dealings with the Sharon Cylon, and the way the some humans begin to turn on each other).
Battlestar Galactica is hands down the best science fiction shows to hit television in a long time. If you haven’t ever caught the series on the Sci-Fi Channel, you should really check it out. Season 2.5 might not be the best place to start watching the show, but it has enough politics, action, and great acting to hook you on the series. I would highly recommend it. And the season cliffhanger will have you glued to the SciFi Channel for season 3!
