Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Epic Series (DVD, 2003, Collectible "Cylon Head" Packaging)

This is the original series! It is another one of those series that captures the attention of family members of all ages. Although, there are a few episodes that I would show only to ages 10 and up. If you like to gather your family around and enjoy some good action then this series belongs in your home. My entire famly is glued to it every time I show an episode. Originally aired in 1979.

As a kid I used to watch Battlestar Galactica pretty religously on tv. And now seeing it again, I feel nostalgic watching the series on dvd. Its a hoot watching deleted scenes, making ofs, and commentarys. I realize that a good show is a good show, no matter when it was made. This dvd is a reminder of good times.

I purchased the complete DVD set as a holiday gift. As a young girl, I remember looking forward to that one night a week to catch a glimpse of Starbuck and Apollo. Now as a mother, I wanted my son to experience the classic sci-fi series and hopefully enjoy it as much as I did. It looks "1970's campy", and still highly enjoyable. It's still a story of hope and the inner strength of the human spirit that transends time and space. I would recommend this series on DVD to anyone that is a fan of classic sci-fi or to those fans of the new and updated version of Battlestar Galactica on the Sci-Fi Channel.

I always loved the origional series of Battlestar Galactica. However some of the episodes were rather hard to find on VHS. Then they were lovingly released on DVD, and in a superb package. The collectors set is definitely the way to go. There is the cool Cylon head package, which is now discontinued and the in depth collectors edition booklet that comes with it. What Battlestar fan could turn down this gem. Also this seller was very fast and communication and item were as described. The price was reasonable as well, what is not to like.

They did a great job with the amount of money they had.
The new show is a real joke when put up against this one..

I'm a fan forever! I saw this as a kid and it has special place in my heart. No matter how old it may look occationally.

i had been seeing it available on ebay and decided to bid on it. i had forgotten what an outstanding series it was. it is one of the best sci-fi series of all time. i had no idea that abc cancelled the series after only one year, what were they thinking? i only wish there were seasons than the one.

I bought this for my husband who has been hinting at this for years. Our son and him really enjoy it. The picture quality is great (better than original from what my husband recalls). Overall, a great buy.

I was a Battlestar Galactica fan as a child, I was excited when they finally released the entire series on DVD. This set is awesome, especially with the cool 3-D case. An excellent purchase, and something to treasure.

This DVD set arrived in excellent condition and brought with it excellent memories. For the New BSG fans I recommend watching the classic to see the simularities and the differences.

I grew up watching this show with my sister. When I saw it I had to get it so me and my sister could watch it any time we wanted. If I had to cmpare it to others on Ebay I would say it was on of the best because it was reasonably priced.

Quality is very good for restored versions from the late 1970's. Loved the show, so glad the series was made available. Complete series with some interviews from the original cast. Excellent product for sci fi fans!

I remember this program when it aired on TV. I loved it then and still enjoy it today. The change to own the series was one i couldn't pass up. the quality if really good. My only regret is that it only went 1 season.

I love that it's the older one that I grew up on. But the look on my husbands face when he got this, priceless. This was to be for father's day however I couldn't wait to give it to him.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA The Classic Series from 1978-1979.
This series that was originally envisioned as a mini-series of tele-movies, was at the last minute, ordered into full production by ABC TV. Against all odds, Glen Larson and Universal Studios delivered a universe of epic proportions to the small screen. Back when there were only 3 major networks, this herculean task was clearly a superhuman endeavor. Faced with impossible expectations of production output for such a huge undertaking, the crew of "Battlestar Galactica" brought to the living rooms of America a weekly production that multi million dollar motion pictures could never have dreamed of accomplishing. For all their hard work, almost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for months, #1 rated ABC TV cancelled their heavily promoted, big sci fi series with out at least giving the production the chance to rest and begin a second season. Later realizing they made a horrible mistake, ABC TV again ordered the production to resume full speed at a moments notice. With corporate bean counters firmly at the helm of their stripped down version, "Galactica:1980" crashed and burned.
"Battlestar Galactica" was held to unrealistic benchmarks and then dismantled before it was allowed to hit it's stride. With fantastic production values, a charismatic cast, exotic new worlds, and special effects that you had to pay to see on the big screen, this is a story of what could have been.

I bought this set and we (me and my boys) LOVE IT!!! I read some reviews that thought it was not complete. It is-the other series was Galactica 1980 when they arrived on Earth. This DVD series has kept us scheduling Battlestar Galactica marathons on the weekends!! I grew up watching the series and wanted to show my boys (13 and 8) this series. My boys have shared it with their friends! We are very happy with this series and the extras on the DVD--well done! I rated it excellent!! Thanks, Julie

I bought this for i used to watch this on the sci-fi chanel & i got it to replace one i have that is not region 1. This is a exellent tv series to watch.

Growing up around the time Star Wars came out, I couln't get enough of space advetures. When Battlestar Gallactica started airing, I was thrilled. The DVD set brings back the memories I had at the time. The quality is great because they redigitized it. The Cylon head box that it came in is truly unique. I love this set set and have watched the series at least three time and have gotten my kids hooked on it too. Love the opening theme music !!!

Cool Collectors item from my childhood. Something I have wanted to buy for awhile. Timing was right and the price was right. Its a classic the will always be fun to watch.

if you liked watching it on tv the first time around, then you will like this set. great picture nice and sharp, audio play`s great thru the surround system.a must have for any sci-fi fan.

I loved these shows as a kid. When they first came out on DVD I was short on cash. When I finally got the money to get this series, they were gone from Walmart ( it was an exclusive to Walmart ). I was crushed and thought I'd never get these for my two sons to see and enjoy watching with me. I was thrilled to find them after all these years, at a price that was great, and they arrived in mint condition. Thanks again!
