Battlestar Galactica - 4.0 (DVD, 2009, 4 Disc Set)

This series and particularly this season is like watching a modern day Isaac Asimov book (and I don't mean like that stupid film "I Robot"). As the DVD was coming to a close, I was getting depressed because I didn't want it to end. Great writing, great characters, great science fiction.

One suggestion - don't start with this if you haven't seen everything up to this point. You won't follow it. Go back to the beginning and then watch this. It's worth it. I would put this series on the same level as Star Trek - the Next Generation.

When the show first started and Starbuck was a female I almost fell out of my chair; I didn't like it and I felt it was just wrong . . . boy was I wrong. Kera Thrace/Starbuck is an AWESOME character that adds a lot of depth to the overall show. Well done BSG !!!

It was the season i was dying to get to watch! i didnt get to see it all on scifi!...only thing it came with Razor!! if new that i wouldnt have bough it seperate!

A lot of people don't know this, but, because the writer's strike was going on at the time, the last episode of season 4.0 (or first half of season 4 if you were watching on Sci-Fi)was going to be the final episode of the series if the strike didn't work itself out in time. It would have been the most depressing ending to a tv show in tv history! I would have cried my eyeballs out if it had ended that way. I mean what a way to end a series! But, fortunately the strike ended in time for the BSG crew to pull together the last half of the season (4.5 now on DVD) and was it one of the best tv series ever....in the history of TV. I was behind on the series when the last half of season 4 rolled around and was being advertised on Sci-Fi. I didn't have cable or satellite at all from the beginning of the series and finally got it a few days before the premier of the last half of season 4 (the final season). I had a marathon a couple of nights before the premier and did not feel that I hated one episode. I get chills just thinking about how everything turned out for the show and cast and crew and actors and just everyone involved in general; especially the fans! It is in first place as my favorite Sci Fi series ever! Until recently, Star Trek Deep Space Nine was my favorite series ever but, the producer of that show produced BSG too! So he just topped his game as far as I'm concerned. Buy the whole series if you have the luxury or if you haven't been able to see any of it. You won't be disappointed!

I keep asking myself "What can do they do to top themselves this time?" And everytime I find myself delighted at the answer the creators of the show give. From the mini-series onward this show has become better and better as the characters become richer and the action more intense. There have been a number of times that that I have been left with my jaw gaping open at the end of an episode, thinking "I can't frakking believe that just happened." and even more times where I told myself I was just going to watch one more episode beofre I go to sleep, and instead end up watching 3 or 4. If you haven't watched this show, you need to.

Just when I think they can't possibly top the previous plot lines and episodes, leave it to Battlestar Galactica to pull it out of the fire. I can't wait to get sesason 4.5 the final episodes and then see "The Plan" which is the side from the cylons point of view as they plan to attack the planet and kill mankind. Great and not just sci-fi, Great Drama

I work a lot of hours and the times I work I could not see the regular showing of this program so I order the set so I could see it and in the order that is was supposed to be in. I have the other sets and wanted the complete set so I could loan them out to family and friends if they wanted to see them.

Starbucks Dog Tags... Worth the price for those alone. The photo/Bio booklet... Nice but info kinda sparce. Bonus features on the DVD's nothing to rave about. Including RAZOR the UNCUT version (uncut because Adama call's a cyclon a C**ksucker), that's a fraking big deal? LOL and who needs yet another copy of RAZOR.

Love watching it and all caught up to speed with what's going on.

Only wish they'd take it further than what they're planning. It's been awesome and great the way they're taking it. Lots of unanswered questions and very interesting the use of leaving us "wanting more". Keeping us all on edge makes it more intense.

I decidedto buy it because I realized I would save a bunch of money buying it off of Ebay, rather than Fry's or Walmart. BSG is a great show, and season 4.0 is probably my favorite season so far. There are many special features which are fun to watch, once you have finished watching the season.

ALL THOUGH IT IS A CONTINUEING SERIES BSG4 IS A STAND ALONE PRODUCT. THIS SHOULD BE WATCHED BEFORE THE NEW SEASON STARTS TO HELP BETTER GET TO KNOW THE CHARACTERS AT THEIR BEST, BEFORE THE PROVERBIAL HITS THE FAN. LIKE THE "STAR WARS" SERIES YOU CAN START IN THE MIDDLE AND GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING TO CATCH UP TO THIS DVD. THIS DVD I BOUGHT SO I COULD CATCH UP ON EPISODES I MISSED, BEFORE THE NEW SEASON. I FIND THE THIS SEASON AND ANY OF THE PRIOR DVDs KEEP YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT. IT'S A 'GREAT' SERIES AND BETTER WITHOUT TV COMMERCIALS. 'BUY IT NOW'
