BATTLE HYMNS is the 1982 album from heavy-metal act Manowar.
This U.K. reissue CD, released in 2000, is digitally remastered and includes new liner notes.
Manowar: Ross The Boss.
The masters of fist-pumping, chest-pounding fantasy metal first scorched the earth with their recorded debut, BATTLE HYMNS. Epic tracks such as "Dark Avenger" and "Battle Hymn" are only barely matched in impact by the blistering solo bass piece "William's Tell." First released in 1982, the album set the archetype for what would later develop into a genre unto itself: power metal.

Editorial Reviews
3 stars out of 5 - ...For pure, irony-free dedication to the form, this heavily muscled New York-based quartet are truly its kings....Only Manowar could don Viking-style furry-loincloths and deliver, straight-faced, the refrain from 'Metal Daze'...
