  Excellent Batman story condensed

I decided to buy this collection in response to playing the Lego Batman game, of all things. The character "Hush" is an unlockable character toward the end of the game. After looking up "Batman Hush" on Wikipedia and reading some about it, I decided the story line looked interesting.

It is a very interesting story line, tying many big-name DC characters together. I haven't read Part II yet, but am looking forward to it. Jim Lee's art and Jeph Loeb's writing are excellent. If you're looking for a novel, buy a novel. This is a comic book, written for people who enjoy a little fantasy and a lot of action. This combined work also features background on each of the individuals involved in putting it all together, as well as some personal comments by Jeph and Jim.

All in all, an excellent purchase!

  Batman: Hush Vol 1

This book is a must have for any Batman or Superman fan. This is the first half of a story arc published in several Batman comics.

The story revolves around Batman trying to battle a Superman who has fallen under control of Poison Ivy. The series of events is monitored by a strange character in bandages who watches from afar and seems to know Batman's and Superman's secrets.

This story arc is a personal choice in that is yet another time when the two most iconic super heroes (Batman & Superman) face off in a battle of brawns vs. brains.

The artwork and story telling is superb.

Note to buyers, the green cover is only Vol 1. The seller did not list the volume number and I assumed it was the complete story. Lesson learned, do not be afraid to ask questions.

VISUALLY STUNNING - THE BEST BATMAN STORY ARC IN YEARS!

Like many fans, I had high expectations for Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee's run on Batman. As their year-long reign as the top-selling comic will attest, they didn't disappoint.

While this story was not groundbreaking in a "Dark Knight Returns" sort of way, this was the best Batman story arc in years. That's saying quite a bit as Batman's "No Man's Land" was easily one of my favorite reads in recent years.

Of course, when reading this story, the first thing that will jump out at you is Jim Lee's art. This is classic Jim Lee art, probably the best he's drawn since his X-Men days. Batman, Superman, the Joker, the Riddler and of course, Catwoman and Poison Ivy, have never looked so good on paper.

As for the story itself, Jeph Loeb crafts a masterful story that enthralls the reader from start to finish. In addition to the classic Batman villains being prominent in the storyline, there's another Batman vs. Superman throwdown which is always a favorite. The best element of all is the exploration of the romantic elements of Batman's relationship with Catwoman.

We have the entire story arc available as a two-volume trade paperback set in the DC section of our eBay store at http://stores.ebay.com/ComicTrekNet

  Batman at his finest!
Review created: 12/29/08

The Hush collection is a great addition to the batman narrative. Hush presents a wide spectrum of Gotham's greatest villains in one of the deepest delving betrayals against the caped crusader. With the closest friends Batman can allow himself at his side, he reveals his identity, cheats death, falls in love and faces fallen comrades. I really enjoyed Loeb's Batman adaptation; He tells an exciting tale with all the twists and turns Batman fans have come to love as well as delving deeper than ever before into the psyche of the dark knight.
