Sidekicks ratchet up excitement.

The latest Batman animated series is one that continues to get better as it goes on with each season improving on the previous.
The first season was decent and establishes a new version of Batman and redesigns and tweaks to familiar villains.
The second season was better and establishes and largely focuses on supporting characters unique to this incarnation of the Batman.
The third season is really good as it introduces and largely focuses on Batgirl telling several stories from her point of view.
The fourth season becomes can't miss. Following the end of the Teen Titans cartoon they finally introduce Robin the Boy Wonder. Now with a complete cast of villains, supporting characters, and now partners the show really has a chance to tell every episode from a fresh perspective and a new perspective. The young sidekicks add a lot of needed humor that breaks up the action. One of the best episodes of the season and the better episodes in the series focuses solely on Robin and Batgirl battling alone in Batman's absence. To top it all off this season contains a personal favorite of mine: Zombie Outbreak!!! What's not to love about that?
