It is hard to not like the new "Dark Knight" series. The DVD collection contains each and every episode in chronological order, from the two part pilot episode, to the last episode in the third season. The series was on television in 1999, and yet eight years later my son is picking the box set off the shelf for Christmas, out of the thousands of available DVD's in the mall outlet. My daughter was thrilled as well when it was unwrapped. Heck, I was curious, and had to seek out the remaining box sets. Eventually, after searching, we found the other two box sets at the local DVD spam outlet. We all sat and watched the entire series of three years to fill in the gaps from what I remembered on television, to the final episode. I remember the series as a show that was full of dialog that was not loaded with inuendo and off- color remarks. I remember the show that had lots of action, but at the same time, maintains a "G" rating. The series maintained these standards throught the entire three years, and all the episodes. As far as the final episode, what a disappointment. The last episode just plays like any of the other episodes. The disappointment in the whole situation is that some of the current animation shows that are on the air now are pure spam compared to the drama, artwork, and creativity of this series. It was a shame to see it end so suddenly. As a bonus, the DVD collection also go one step further and reveals the creative team in candid and frank interviews about each of the episodes, and reveals the inner workings from the animation series. The three box set collection requires a large commitment in time, effort, and energy, but is worth it in the long run if you are looking for a great show that you can share with the children in your family. JMHO...
