I've never been a big comic book fiend and I haven't been overly excited by recent comic-to-theater films like Spiderman, the Incredible Hukl, etc. But without a doubt - Batman Begins is the best of this recent phenomenon and is a fantastic movie if if you aren't a comic fan or even a batman fan - Batman Begins is done so well, that it really is an excellent movie. Christian Bale is outstanding (as always) as Bruce Wayne and Batman and the rest of the cast is, for the most part, stellar: Michael Caine as Alred is great, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman are always excellent. My only criticism of the acting - and really of the film - is Katie Holmes as love interest Rachel Dawes... she is awful - has no emotion, is a painfully poor actress, and of course this movie arrived during her Tom Cruise escapade... But enough about Katie and more about Batman:
Batman Begins is more like an epic and a novel than a regular action film - it follows certain themes very nicely throughout the entire plot and does so under a very dark setting. The action scenes are filmed beautifully and the movie is general is a pleasure for the eyes - the DVD is an excellent addition for any big screen TV!

Having loathed most of the previous Batman movies, I was reluctant to watch this one. I'm so glad I did! This one has removed almost all of the cartoon elements found in the last two Batman movies and is an excellent action adventure drama. The cast is fantastic: Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson and Gary Oldman were highlights for me. This movie takes on two of the most complex villains in the Batman legend: Ra's al Ghul and the Scarecrow. The pacing of the movie is great: it balances backstory and emotional turmoil with fast-paced action sequences. Christian Bale successfully portrays both Batman and Bruce Wayne--something previous actors seemed to have trouble with. Unlike some of the other Batman movies, this one DOES deserve its PG-13 rating: the Scarecrow scenes in particular could be too scary for young children. I thorougly enjoyed this movie and am glad I have it in my DVD collection to watch again. Highly recommended!

What a GREAT movie !! Everyone involved did a fantastic job! From the writers, producers, director, actors, stuntmen and all of the behind-the-scenes folks.
A great job was done on the portrayals of the characters, from Mom & Dad, to Alfred & Bruce, to the mob boss & the creepy scarecrow, to the growth of the careers of James Gordon & Batman, to utilizing the financial & business resources of Wayne Enterprises.
The introduction of all of the very cool Batman “toys”, from the suit to the gadgets, as well as the Batmobile itself, is very well done and highly believable. Everything that Bruce acquires from the Archives Department, could conceivably happen.
Great special effects and great chemistry of the entire cast makes this film a must see & a must have for your video collection.
I would see 30 of these movies provided they are made with the main cast remaining intact as well as the director and writers, and the same attention to detail and character casting that this film has.

Batman Really Begins

I think there is a idealogical reason why (besides the obvious) this movie is called "Batman Begins". THis is the first good one.
Plot - Brilliant. The whole Plot was logical and put the pieces of the puzzle together as to how Bruce wayne became "The Batman".
Character - Bale makes the most convincing batman ive seen (Adam west and Keaton are good but are like diet cokes compared to bale), and Neeson and Caine provide the talent it needs to make a great movie such as this. Even Katie Homes was decent, but imo many other actors could of took her place.
Cinematography - Not the highlight of the movie, but the beginning scenes were pretty awing to watch, and how Gotham was built this time around had the perfect dark and gloomy feeling and not some camp version like the earlier batman movies.
Music and Sound - Nothing really memorable about the music, but the sound was dead on.
Overall- 5 out of 5. I don't think anyone would argue that this was the best batman movie made so far and I can't wait till the sequel comes out in 2008.

Being a childhood fan of Batman, in those days, there was Batman and Robin, so I waited and waited until a decent Batman film was made. After watching 'Batman - The Dark Knight' and being totally taken a back by the complete mastery of this film, (I found this film to be leagues apart from any other Batman films produced to date) I simply had to buy the orignal and since it had been so long since I saw Batman Begins, I needed to watch it to get the full picture.
This film was also fantastic, not as good as the 'Dark Knight' but well worth having as part of any film collection!

We give Batman Begins a Rating of Good. We were not sure if we would like it or not but we ran out and bought it when it came out. At that time, we lost interests at the beginning, and never really watched it. So.. we watched it again recently(Jan 09) after watching The Dark Knight, and enjoyed it much more. If you see The Dark Knight, you should really watch Batman Begins. It explains a lot.
We're not big Batman fans, but now that we have seen it "again", we're PLEASED! You have to watch the WHOLE movie to get the full effect, as the beginning is somewhat on the boring side, with no action and no suspense. The action and suspense kicks in about halfway through and lasts throughout the rest of the movie.
If you see The Dark Knight, you really should see Batman Begins. It shows exactly that, how Batman began.
A lot of the acting cast is the same cast in The Dark Knight.

Great Action Movie. Good special effects.This movie was an action packed movie with a good store line. It is not the best movie I have ever seen but it was worth every penny I paid for it. I initially purchased this movie because I had never seen it and I could buy it cheaper than renting it. I was not disappointed.

Out of all the batman movies this one goes the lenght to explain and give the details for how he became who is. I found the story line and characters to be believable and great for the part. The producers should have spent to time and created this type of movie from the beginning. A++ in my book, you will not be disappointed in watching this show.

This is a movie that is rated to were children could watch. And is clean for the eye to watch also. I like star wars movies and this one will be a good one to go with it. I always like reading about batman and superman comic books and this movie puts it to more alive and got good action in it also.
