BOOK WAS PURCHASED TO ASSIST WITH SCHOOL . I HAD BEEN OUT OF COLLEGE ABOUT 15 YRS. SO I TOOK MY ON REFRESHER COURSE. RECEIVED AN B IN PRE-ALGBRA WHEN RECALL KICKED IN I GOT A'S IN ALL ALGEBRA COURSES NOW IN GEOMETRY, CALCULUS HERE I COME LOL. GREAT ASSISTANCE.

) Very thorough, explanations are down-to-earth; understandable. I bought this for our 14 year old for catch-up on her Math skills. She's been delving into it, says even that she LOVES it, unlike any other Math work we've bought for her in the past. We homeschool her and felt that the math offered in the teaching program we use wasn't filling enough, nor did it explain well. This is the ticket! I've even gotten interested and learned how to figure the Powers of ____! It's pretty great, just like most of the "Dummies" books have been. The bonus is that you don't have to buy the Basic Math & Pre-Algebra Book unless you want to, and this is consumable, write right in it! The price is perfect if you have other kids you would like to buy one for.

Makes problem solving look like a fun challenge. As an adolecent, math class was completely baffling and anxiety causing. From an adult perspective, the book presents problems which seem more like puzzle - solving.
