Baseball Stars (Nintendo, 1989)

Without doubt the greatest baseball game i've ever played on any system. The more you play it, the more you will love it. It is a fun game with all of the options like creating a team, hiring and firing players and so on. However, the greatest value of this game is as a head to head game. Playing against another player there is simply no better game ever made. The gameplay is very easy once you get a handle on the controls. The precision at which you can pitch, hit and field once you master the game is unbelievable. The more you and an opponent play against each other, the more you will appreciate this game.

Great Game. A must buy for any Baseball fan. Arcade style baseball game, where you can make your own team, hire and fire players, change player names,and adjust the rosters how you want. Your team starts off kind of weak. But, each time you win a game, you also win money. This money can be used to improve players on your team or you can save money to buy better players or even a STAR player! I have always liked this game and it is still one of my favorites for the NES.

Excellent game Great game because you can create your own team and name all your own players and it is all saved to the game cartridge. I just had to own it again.

This is my all-time favorite game for the original Nintendo and holds true 25 years later.

Complex yet simple, this game actually offers memory in the cartridge so you can create your own team, players and keep stats.

The ONLY negative is that the cartridge will become fussy and difficult to turn on which will cause your efforts, teams, players, and stats to erase.

This is my 10th purchase of this game and have actually pryed my 13 year old son from his WII and X-Box to play with the "Oldman".

I of course have schooled him and remain undefeated.

Baseball Stars will not get great reviews for graphics, but the game play is fun, and it is the first video game sports franchise that allows you to create teams and build them from the ground up. To date Baseball Stars is the ONLY sports video game that allows you to create custom leagues, which is a big plus. The biggest negative to this game is that the stat tracking is minimal, but this is not a hinderance to having hours and hours of fun. This game is a must buy for sports fans and old NES buffs.

I remember playing this game as a kid on my Nintendo. My brother and I wore out the battery in the cartridge on the one we had. I love how you can make your own team, and name your players. You can actually win money playing other teams and then use that money power up your players or hire new ones. Best graphic ever for firing a player. There are bits that are less than they could be, but hey it's the old Nintendo, what can you expect. Loads better than Baseball Stars 2 where you couldn't change the names of players. Maybe there will be a new incarnation that will finally do this game justice. The graphics are nothing to brag about with today's systems, but this game is the most fun I've had with a video game controller.

It's true there isn't real teams but you can take a team and win games to build up players and make your team better. It's just awesome!!!

This is the only sports game on any system that I have been able to pick up 10 years after the first time I played it, and lose hours staring at the TV. I recently dug out my old nintendo but I couldn't find my copy of Baseball Stars, so I had to get a new one. In my opinion this is one of the top five NES games ever made.

Great old school NES game, rates up there with todays games (MLB the Show etc). Always fun to play and simple to learn for all ages....

Hey do you remember growing up playing Nintendo, well I do and Baseball Stars was a part of it. This game still deserved a lot of play time. Fun even to this day!!!

I remember this from when I was a kid. I was an awesome game where you could create your own baseball team. I think it was the first one that allowed you to to this. However, current video game technology has seriously aged this game. It is easy to control for younger players because there are less buttons and options involved. Fun game and still one of my favorite NES titles.
