Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror by Matt Groening (1999, Paperback)

Already being a big time Simpsons fan and of their Halloween episodes in particular, I was thrilled to learn of their continuation of this classic brand of humor in their comic book series. However some of the ones I've come across feature certain stories drawn by other artists and it clearly shows as the artwork is often ghastly and makes the story hard to appreciate. What makes this particular book a real find is it is the only one of their Halloween series I've seen that stays true to the look of the series and the characters and features some of the more popular Horror movie spoofs. Favorite stories include a memorable blending of the series popular recurring villain Sideshow Bob with one of the most famous movie monsters, can you guess?, the Blob!,a wickedly funny spoof of the Exorcist with reverend Lovejoy on a mission to cast out of Lisa, that most foul and corrupting whore of hell, you guessed it!, Madonna!, and a classic Simpsons take on Invasion Of The Body Snatchers with a terrifying, must see twist ending! An excellent find and a must have addition to any Simpson or Halloween lovers library!
