Barron's American History by William O. Kellogg (2003, Paperback, Illustrated)

I love this American History text. It covers a HUGE amount of history, but it does it in bite-size chunks, making the whole read more enjoyable. If you are a homeschooling family, this is a fantastic tool! It's relatively easy to go through each chapter and create a question/answer sheet. Then just make up quizzes off the sheets. Make a final test at the end of the book. We have done that for all our high school children. Your child will walk away from the this book knowing more about American history than most adults. It's well-written, fairly unbiased, and I think it does a pretty fair and balanced assessment of the topics. Easy to read, easy to use, easy to understand - it's American History the Easy Way!!!
