Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses (DVD, 2006)

The girls really enjoyed this Barbie movie with the help of their younger brother who got up and started dancing like a prince. The movie is very colorful. The 12 Princesses hide from their mean Aunt who doesn't believe dancing and singing is appropriate. They run off to one of their secret places and soon find that their Aunt is planning to cause trouble for their Dad. Barbie returns to try and help save her Dad.

We thought that it was the best of the Barbie movies. My daughter saw it at a friend's house and raved about it. We then rented it and both felt that it was a must buy. There is great music and classic good overcomes evil.

I bought this DVD at the request of my 7-year old daughter, a budding ballerina.
The story keeps enough of the traditional fairy tale, to be entertaining for the adults. It has a good plot and bright colors that keep the children's attention, and has provided excellent entertaintment during bitter cold winter days.
It provides good character lessons in family dynamics, sibling love, overcoming obstacles, and helping each other.
Parents may want to watch it with their children to answer their questions. I know I had a lot of them regarding the villainess...

Gret for any girl of any age. I sit down and watch this with my 6 year old and 12 year old girls. One is in ballet so it is even more special to her. They can not get enough. It is a great purchase.

I never received the DVD. This person took my money and ran. I am now out of $13.00. I have read from other buyers that they got ripped off too.

I bought the dvd Barbie in the 12 dancing Princess because my daughter wanted it for christmas. It has not been opened. My daughter has the whole collection of the barbie's movies.

We love the Barbie movies. I have three girls under 5 and one little boy and we enjoy the values and entertainment the Barbie movies offer. This one is just as good as the previous. My only complaint is that I wish it offered a CD soundtrack for the music. My girls love the music and I would love for them to get to hear it without having the TV on all day.

barbie in the 12 dancing princesses has to be the best barbie movie yet!!!in this one barbie is princess genevieve and she has 11 other sisters.her father is trying to raise them by himself but find he can't make them into the true princesses they need to be.so he calls upon his cousin to come to the castle to help teach them how to become princesses.but she has other plans for him and his kingdom.this movie is full of suspense and a must have for any barbie fan.it even has the music video for shine on it too...great movie!!!!!!!

My daughter loved this movie. We saw it on tv and had to get it. Barbie has come along way since I was a little girl.

I LOVE ALL OF THE BARBIE DVD MOVIES, I MAINLY BUY THEM FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER WHO IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD AND ENJOYS THEM VERY MUCH. THIS ONE IN PARTICULAR I BOUGHT IT FOR THE HOLIDAYS. THANKS!!

I HAD to buy this DVD as well because(for reasons see review of Barbie and The Magic of Pegasus). Each year the CG animation gets better and better, same with the story lines and plot. This movie will be a great oddity for those who are long-time Barbie collectors or for those who are just starting out.

Just saw the movie on TV and can't wait to get it for my grand-daugthers! They love the Barbie movies and I'm sure this one will be another one of thier favorites.

If your daughter is into dancing and singing then this is the movie for you! So many songs and dancing. What I love about the barbie vidoes is that they tearch you girl that beauty isen't everything. The teach your daughter that being brave and smart are just as important. I love this movie and my daughte watches it 100 times a day!

My daughters absolutely love this movie. It is full of dancing and magic. It's not just another magical story about a princess finding her prince, but it also focuses on the relationship between a father and his daughters as well as a bond between sisters. I love that my kids get to see the importance of having a sister bond and how much stronger it could make them. LOVELY STORY!

Great movie! My daughter loved it! Perfect for preschool children-- no violence or inappropriate scenes.

My daugther (4.5) loves this movie. It has great music, and for the most part, a good message about standing up to what you believe and working together. The only complaint I have about all the Barbie movies, is that they never show any of the female characters actually eating anything, ever! It sounds petty perhaps, but it is a subtle message that I don't think young girls need in our society, which is already overly focused on physical beauty and being skinny. Even when the characters complain about being very hungry and they sit down at a table with food, they never actually eat anything. Just something to keep in mind if your child is watching these.

eden is 4 years old, she loves this barbie movie as the other princess barbie movies. she especially loves the dancing and the outfits the barbie princesses wear. very good movie for a little girl or big girl as i am edens mom and i love,love,love watching the barbie movies with her i would even watch them by myself.

I bought a barbie movie for my daughter, after I rented it from netflix and she wouldn't part with it for almost 3 months. I couldn't find it in stores near me. My movie came very quickly and in perfect condiction. No worries with this seller. Now if only I didn't have to watch it EVERYDAY!

My daughter loves this DVD. She watches it all the time. The DVD was in excellent condition and I have had no problems (except getting her to turn it off to go to bed).

My daughter, who just turned five, loves this movie and all the Barbie movies. She dances and sing just like the princesses. She wants to emulate them. She watches this movie many times. I'm glad that she has it.

Barbie in The 12 Dancing Princesses is a wonderful musical. It tells the story of 12 princesses who, with the help of Derek, a shoe cobbler, escape away to a hidden realm told to them through their mother's children's stories. They must join together to discover the evil their aunt is scheming and the harm that she is causing their father, the king. They must hurry to save the kingdom and their father.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my college roommate. She and I watch cartoons while doing homework. The film, however, is a great film for little girls who are wanting to dream of castles and princes and princesses.
