216 pages. Written by Florence Theriault in consultation with Sarah Sink Eames.
This is an auction catalog from 1992. Intro starts out telling us that it is said, that if every Barbie was laid end to end, they would stretch around the world three times.. since this was written in 1992(14 years ago) it's safe to say we could double that!
As with all Theriault's catalogs, there will be an estimated price and then the prices realized after the auction.. This is one of the most interesting thing about these catalogs...to see where the estimates can be way off.
More important, though, are the pictures of the pristine and rare items that a collector may never be lucky enough to see or own in person..
As always, the photographs are the best.
They start with the # 1 Barbies(of course all mint in the box!) They cover Ken, Skipper, Casey and yes, even Twiggy. There is a great close up of the Color Magic Barbie...How many of you own a "Curtis"?...
And, OH the outfits! The 900 series...The 1600 series..And even with the dolls that are still sealed in their original boxes, they have listed the items that are with that doll.. This is very valuable for those trying to peice together all those original items.
The extremely rare Sun Spell and Moon Mystic dolls are pictured..
With me, and doll identification.. Pictures tell it all.. You can't just write about what a doll LOOKS like.. You need to see it.
Issue price of this catalog/book was $45.
