I am a photographer, and I looked at this video professionally. This video is excellent. If you are an artist and need some visual ideas or inspiration, it's the way to go.
Everything works here - colors, camera movements, composition, people, places.

This is an amazing documentary that captures the essense of life in breath-taking shots from around the world. It will make you laugh, cry, smile, and gasp because of the power depicted in each clip. Words do not describe the power Baraka has at truly showing the beauty and amazement of this Earth we call home, and the effect of human kind upon it.

This film shows different scenes of the world and its people. Beautiful cinemotagraphy, amazing time-lapse photography with panning camera moves and a deep exploration into some of the most interesting cultures on earth make this a staple of any fan of film. The film reveals some of the film maker's opinions on the human condition in general, but they are very muted; you still take away whatever you choose to take away from this film. The Special Edition transfer is crisp, bright and colorful! Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing film. Stunning camera work, soul-stirring visuals, great editing, and not a single word spoken during the entire film. I can't believe that this movie flew under the radar.

The pictures are outstanding, everything is so beautifully made. It shows us the different cultures on our planet without words, just the perfect images and perfect pictures. This is a DVD that you can watch over and over and over. So far, the best cultural documentary I have ever seen. I would highly recommend it. Everytime we have shown it to friends, they were blown away.

  A film to move you
Review created: 06/20/08

What an excellent film. It shows just how beautiful and majestic our planet can be, and how perilous the civilized culture has been on it. What a great way to remind us of the impact we are having on our home. This film will move you in ways you never thought a film could...it might even bring a tear or two to your eye. I have shown this film to my 7-year-old daughter in order to plant a seed of understanding about other cultures, and environmental wonder. Mother Nature is a powerful and magical force. My bet would be to not reckon with her!

I NEVER recieved the title. I lodged a complaint after sendng emails to them but no response! The title was cheap so there doesn't seem like there is much more I can do. I don't really think that this will get a response from eBay. I have never had a problem with any other purchases or sales except this one.

Baraka is a virtually speechless documentary that will leave you speechless as well. It shows you scenery and footage from every corner of the globe, in awesome quality. I recommend this to anyone who wants to catch a glimpse of how different other cultures can be.

This movie (for me) was a real eye-opener. It shows the viewer that dialogue is simply unnecessary when the images are powerful enough. This is a must have for the true cinematic enthusiast. Too bad I missed out when this was in IMAX...:-(.

I saw this video at school and it was filmed beautifully and was inspiring. The movie has no words but forces you to think about the world around you in different eyes. It is a "cultural" movie and it is a full sensory experience. I purchased it on Ebay because I did not feell like trying to hunt it down from a store as it is an oddball movie.
