I bought it for my boyfriend and we're excited about seeing it together. We're both musicians, so we appreciate the nonverbalness of it and musical aesthetic feeling of it.

This film has the same haunting, lingering imagery that made that earlier film so compelling. It's dripping in chromatic saturation, wonderful passages of time-lapse photography of stars and clouds wheeling across the sky, and the music is powerful and evocative.
And on a 50" plasma tv? Unbeatable!

) After getting my new blue-ray player and 50" Plasma TV, I bought this movie. The quality of the images is astounding, definitely the best out of all of the blu-ray movies I now have. (Including "Planet Earth" and "Blue Planet")
I have found that Baraka is the perfect disc to just have playing during a cocktail party... after a few minutes, a crowd forms around the TV as people talk about the images they see. It's literally art.
The makers of this movie did an astounding job, and the score if fantastic as well.
If you have a high-end home theater system, you simply must have this movie.
However, should you play it during a party as I did, make sure nobody takes it. Yes, it's that good.
