Synopsis In the fourth book of the Little House series, the Ingalls family travels by covered wagon through Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa to Minnesota. When they reach their destination, Pa purchases some land and builds a log cabin with real glass windows and a hinged door. But, in addition to some good times, the family must contend with not only a blizzard but a spring grasshopper attack that ruins their crops.
Laura and her family move to Minnesota where they live in a dugout until a new house is built and face misfortunes caused by flood, blizzard, and grasshoppers.
