Art Brut come from New Cross in the UK and are part of the neo-wave of bands like Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand and Scissor Sisters whose roots are immediately apparent in the new wave of the 70's and 80's, but also reach back to the pop of the 60's. Their first demo "Formed A Band" they claim to have written five minutes after they all met and was included on a series of tapes they call "brutlegs". Hailed by critics, the group has enough hooks to reel you in and blast on to the pop charts.
