Band of Brothers by Stephen E. Ambrose Jr. (2001, Paperback)

Great author; great reading; a good accompaniment to the HBO -DVD series.

I own the DVD series that I bought on e-bay and wanted to own the book.

This is a great book and a must read for anyone who is interested in the slightest bit about history and wars. The book draws you in and leaves you wanting to continue reading after each chapter. Whoever has seen the HBO Series should definately read the book it makes the series so much more. I bought the book because when I originally read it I rented it from the library, but now wish to have a copy of my own to read again and again.

although mr ambrose is not the best writer, the stories, because of the experiences and lives recorded, are very engaging.

I saw the the HBO series and now the book. Read the book it is better and was written by one of the best authers. I need not say more! Stephen E. Ambrose Jr. has written several books on military history and I have read a few of them and intend to hunt down the ones I do not have, to read and add them to my collection of military history. I will miss his way of telling and writing about our greatest generation !!

This is a very good book that was turned into an HBO series. Very interesting reading for anyone that follows WWII history. I have seen the series several times. Reading the book now is more enjoyable due to the visual link that I have.

I love the history of the books. I decided to buy the books because I loved the movies that they were based on now I can read the books.

This is a great book. It tells the story of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division in WWII. It is action-pcked and tells a great story, but it is also very informative and historicaly accurate. As always, Stephen Ambrose presents it in an organized, very readable way. I would highly reccommend this book to anyone interested in World War Two history.

Books tend to be more in depth than movies and the series itself was excellent. The book allows readers to find out more about the individual characters and in this case true to life people. The book also allows readers to know what it was like for our father's (and mother's) generation to live through a world war including the sacrifices that an entire country had to make to defeat evil personified. If you liked the HBO series you will love this book.

This was a really good book. If you liked the movie you'll love this book. I am no really a fan of war movies or books but I watch this series by HBO and I just had to read the book. It was worth reading

A true story of heroes, courage, and brotherhood!!! This book written by Stephen Ambrose is a real insight of what soldiers went through in WWII, what they endured, sacrificed, and died for. This book has everything you could ever want in a book. I bought this book because I saw the mini sieres and loved it.

This is a GREAT Book. It is a GREAT Movie. The story of Easy Company during WWII is done perfectly. I plan to purchase more books by this author.

I recently bought this book around the beginning of January. I was easily impressed to see how well maintained the book was but of all i was impressed for literature meaning. It does a great job in deatiling the war and the book is great aid for my college English class

Love the book, it really can set your mind to being in those historic moments with Easy Company. I loved the DVD series too and thats when I wanted to read the book.

I bought this book for a class I'm taking. Great book! Not boring at all--very entertaining and keeps you in the moment.

I saw the miniseries which was developed from this book. The book follows an average bunch of men that join a new concept in soldier, the Airborne. The story is wonderfully told by a master, Stephen Ambrose. He details the progress of this wonderful bunch of GIs and their heroic feats from D-Day to taking the Eagle's Nest. I especially admire, Dick Winters. To me he his the hero of the story even though all served wonderfully, still I am amazed at this man's development into a natural leader. God bless each of these men, and all soldiers everywhere.

ejoyed the book as i did the movie cds also. i bought it because i enjoyed the cds on band of brothers.

If you atre an AMerican, you should readc this book for it's detailed description od Easy companies action from landing at DDay to Hitlers nest , the end of WWII. If you love war books, read it, you will truly realize the sacrifice these men made to keep Europe free.

If you have ever read any other books from Ambrose, then you won't be surprised by this one at all. It has all your typical action in it, plus short little interviews as all. He also manages to add a few pictures in too. If you have seen the HBO mini series then, the book isn't that different. You will see a few differences here and there, but not much. Overall, a good item for anyone's WW2 collections.

Great book, and series. It shows what are men went through during WW II. It showed how close they all became. It showed how they fought, and died. I served in the 101 2/327 but it was during the Vietnam era. But what our troops did during the time of the book and series was what we called hero's. Each and everyone who fought for are freedom are heros. Thanks

My daughter sends me her list for books a couple of times a year. I always cringe! How far is this going to set me back. Thankfully there is an ebay! My daugher gets her books and I can still by groceries! Good transaction, everything went smooth!

I ordered this book because I liked the movie and wanted to see if the movie followed the book and if I could get more information about " Easy Company."

I've seen the HBO series several times and this book is just as good as it. It really puts a perspective on the freedoms the soldiers fought so bravely for over seas. Every high school history class should be required to read parts of, if not the whole book to teach them of the bravery and sacrifices that have been wrongly forgotten in too many curriculums across the country.

Well written, wonderful story of leadership and the bonding of close, tough, and resilient soldiers. It is a must read for any ww2 buff or if you are just looking for a good non-fiction inspirational story.
