Bambi (DVD, 2005, 2-Disc Special Edition/Platinum Edition)

Every time I see this movie I remember back to when I was 8 years old and my big sister took to me this at the theatre for my birthday. She passed away exactly 2 years later. This movie has fond memories for me.
I am so pleased that Disney has rereleased the movie for my children to enjoy.
Thumper, Flower, and Bami are icons of Disney.
This is by far one of the best movies that Disney has every put it.
It also as all Disney movies has a wonderful family message for the whole family to enjoy. This movie deserves to be a part of your family's collection.

If you have seen this movie before then you know how great it is. The story of a deer yes, but told from Disney's perspective. Kids and adults will love it! If you have never seen this first movie, you need to. While Bambi 2 is good, the firt movie is almost always the best, especially where Disney is concerned. Memorable characters. Classic lines and just a great all around movie. Dont let this one go back into the vault!!

On one level, "Bambi" is just a little, animated film, just under 70 minutes, that tells the story of an orphaned deer growing up. Right? And an acorn is just a nut.

"Bambi" was made in 1942, but is still impressive in its animation, even in comparison to the computer-generated graphics of today. The colors are so lush, that you want to freeze some of the frames and hang them up on your wall. The beauty of Nature is captured here as well as in any film, animated or not.

"Bambi" is the story of one deer, but it is also a case study in the very basics of life: parental love, loss and grief, friendship, loyalty, balancing risk and need, growing toward independence, being at one and in harmony with Nature, and romantic love. It is a small film that covers more ground than many epic, megabuck productions.

"Bambi" did something else significant: for many, it altered people's view of deer and their relationship to Man. I recently read a study that looked at this issue, and one finding is that two things decreased markedly after the release of "Bambi": involvement in deer-hunting, and the value people in general place on deer-hunting.

Sometimes, in simplicity, there is perfection.

It is nice to see a film for children that I am not afraid to leave the room during. This is a clean wholesome film with wonderful animation. The characters are vibrant and exciting and the children adore them. We also have great discussions about the characters and their personalities and the problems they face and how they solved them. Children always learn better with a discussion after the film!

Bambi is a fun little tale about young deer and his other animal friends. The one thing that you may want to know is that the movie does deal with death on a very basic level, and children who are not yet familiar with such a concept may find it saddening. Maybe start them off with the Lion King, which does a good job of explaining the circle of life. The movie is overall fun and triumphant however, and if you've seen it, then you'll know if its right for your kids. The best Disney cartoon, My kids love it. And my father in law comes over just to watch Bambi. The futures of this cartoon is so real.By watching this cartoon, I felt like I was in the forest and I was watching real life of the animals. A+. This cartoon will never get old. All ages love it, and i have a prof.

Iwanted the dvd because its a classic

The seller sold the DVD at a great price and shipped it quickly. However, it was not described very accrutly. It was listed as like new condition. The DVD was scratched, the case was broken, the discs can't click into place inside. The outside jacket it torn and wrinkled. It works at least, but isn't anything like new.

Bambi & Bambi II are excellant movies for children and family. Bambi is so cute and my children are very fond of deer and other animals. Living in Maine we see our share of deer. These movie's show children how humans effect wild animals habitat. We need to respect their area and make sure to prevent forest fires. As a parent I highly recommend both of these videos from disney.

This classic film is timeless and fun no matter how many times you've seen it...The cast and story are exciting and fresh even if you've seen the film over 100 times, as I have...The is a Must Have DVD for anyone’s collection!!!

I have a two year old that has just recently showed an interest in movies and Bambi is one of my all time favorites. I wanted him to have this and since Disney only releases it's classics for a short time, ebay was my last resort. I was very happy to find this for sale.

I bought this movie for myself as much as my daughter. This is not only a Disney classic but overall one of the best movies ever made. I would never dream of having a DVD collection without this being included. I would recommend buying this movie for anyone, be it a child or an adult.

This movie is so cute and I love it but it's SO depressing! I always cry when I watch the scene with the mother dying!

As a younger child I always loved watching this movie. I was intrigued by the talking deer! I also recall how soothing and gentle Bambi's mother was. It's a great blend of humor, love, suspense, and warmth. Kids with a variety of ages are likely to enjoy it, with its curious and kind Bambi, and the infamous "Thumper", the bunny who never eats his greens. Flower, the skunk, is yet another beloved character. If you enjoyed "Fox and the Hound" or "Lady and the Tramp" you are sure to have fun with this classic, "Bambi."

What's not to love about this adorably cute movie! My little brother learned his first word from this movie (bir...d), so it brings back warm thoughts and feelings as I think back. Superb animation and characters. It's extremely hart-warming and fun. It's one you can watch over and over and over again and not be disappointed. A perfect addition to anyone's collection!

The story of Bambi will always be a true classic. A wonderful story for children to learn the values of nature and family. A true classic.

Bambi is a story for all ages. All my children and all but one grandchildren have seen and loved it. My 7 year old grandson when he saw it at age 3 called it "Bambi Deer". I highly recommend it to everyone.
