WalMart special - turned out to be great monitor!! :-)

I bought this monitor on sale at WalMart last year, mostly because I simply needed to replace an aging CRT, and wanted to take advantage of the DVI output from my GeForce video card. Plus it IS digital LCD and very thin/lighweight, all a plus to me. Right out of the box, it worked great for me! No dead pixels, no screen distortions, no color problems, just nothing wrong with it at all. And for right @ $300(which BTW included a $50 value DVI cable...), I almost expected it to. It has very good true colors, good sharpness/clarity, and most surprising to me, especially as I wasn't even interested in response times since I do practically no gaming, a very fast 10ms(rated) response time. Response time is the measurement it takes for a color pixel to 'twist' itself to another color. Obviously, the slower the reponse time, the more apt you may see blurring, streaks or other aberrations in high-demand video applications. This monitor has never exhibited any such behavior, and I regularly run DVD's and Windows Media files in full-screen true-color(32bit) @ 1280x1024 resolution. In summary, I guess I can't say enough about how satisfied I am with this monitor(and no, I don't work for WalMart or Balance Digital - now known as IC Power), and I highly recommend it for a great monitor upgrade/replacement. Last I checked they are listing @ WalMart for $269.00 as of 4/21/06. Get yours now!! :-)

Not sure who copied/pasted part of my review below, but my monitor is still working fine and going strong! It sure has been a good value, though seems to be unavailable anymore. If you need a nice, cheap LCD monitor, don't hesitate to pick one up, should one become available! Oh, and just to avoid any possible problems from age/abuse, I'd recommend buying only a new in box unit, ok? Good luck! :-)

  Don't buy Balance/IC Power CM2019 LCD Monitor

Purchased IC Power CM2019 same as Balance CM2019, same company "makes" them. Used it for about 2 years and just out of the blue, screen was frozen. I tried power off/on and nothing helped. When I restarted my PC the monitor started and there is three bold vertical lines in white, three bold vertical lines in black, followed by numerous rainbow lines.

Contacted IC PowerHouse, company that "makes" and sells both of the products and there is no reponse from them at all. When I called it was an automated (redirection) to their voicemail, going from Tech to "O" for operator.

LCD Monitors should last for at least 6 years after that time they will either be more brighter or, darker screen. But to burn-out after 2 years is way out of question.

Paid $275 for mine in Walmart and I am sorry that I ever did that. If you need a good monitor, for much less go with Acer. Stay away from these China made cheap toys and stay away from these that are not name brands. For instance HP 20" will cost you $250*

Good Luck :-)

I bought this monitor at WalMart last year, mostly because I simply needed to replace an aging 17", and wanted to take advantage of the DVI output from my GeForce video card. Plus it is digital LCD and very thin/lighweight, all a plus to me. Right out of the box No dead pixels, no screen distortions, no color problems, just nothing wrong with it at all. It has very good true colors, good sharpness/clarity, and no blurring, streaks or other aberrations in high-demand video applications. This monitor has never exhibited any such behavior, and I regularly run Vanguard, World of Warcraft, EverQuest II and many other games and never had an issue at all ever. I have pushed the monitor with some high end video cards like: EVGA e-GeForce 7900GT KO 256MB & BFG GeForce 7950 GT OC 512MB in full-screen true-color(32bit) @ 1280x1024 resolution. I can't say enough about how satisfied I am with this monitor from Balance Digital - now known as IC Power.

for the price it was awesome! it works great and so much bigger than the one i had before. i thought that when i bought this for such a low price that there would be a scratch or dent, but no scratches or dents. awesome. i still cannot believe that i got this at such a low price. i am very happy with this product. i even have a warranty on this item! so if it breaks and cannot be fixed, i get my money back! how much better can it get!
