Bait of Satan by John Bevere (1994, Paperback)

I love the way John Bevere explains how taking offense can ruin our lives. Offense is a tool of Satan to make us leave our church family, friends, jobs, etc. Bevere uses the Bible to show us God's way of dealing with the hurts in life, whether intentional or by accident, by others. And there is so much more. I have attended a study group at church as well and each week the class got bigger as others heard and what the class was about. I learned so much I had to get my own set for review.

I heard the author speak from this book and it inspired me to purchase the book for further reading on the topic.

Bevere's BAIT of SATAN has changed the way I live, love and worship. No longer held captive by the deception of the enemy, I can work my way through a difficult day, talk to those who disagree with me in a normal and sane manner and I can even hold a conversation with my wife without prefacing everything she says with my own interpretation. I AM FREE from OFFENSE! Thank you John Bevere.

This book is a must read for ANYONE who seeks to lead a righteous life in service to Christ or if you just want to be free from hatred..

I have not read this book The Bait of Satan but had to put a rating to do the review. It looks like a really good book. Thank you.

This book should be read by every christian. It nails it for what Satan trys to do to us to keep us depressed and angry that keeps us away from the treasure God has for us. The book is easy to read and has lots of Scripture. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 13.

John Bevere is a tremendously anointed author. This is one of his first books and a very important guide for Christians who want to live pure before the Lord. It has many examples of how we can be offended in the Church and the consequences of it. He encourages a person to be honest about his offenses-whether the victim or the giver of it. It's about how to live free of offense and to walk in love instead-a great book for all Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. I highly recommend it.

This is an excellent book which goes straight to heart of the matter- how people can take offense in life and be trapped by evil! John Bevere shows that we must avoid doing this as it is not what God wants for us. We must avoid being offended; instead be forgiving and better things will happen. Without feeling a grudge, we can achieve much more in life and not be baited into a depressed attitude.
The book is supported throughout by good Bible references. I found it excellent.

I read this book years ago, and have never forgotten it. It is without a doubt one of the most important teachings about what the Bible says will happen to people in the end times of this age. If you struggle with being easily offended at people for their stupidity, and their offensive ways, you must read this book. I have no doubts that it will help you. As the words of a famous book say, "The truth will set you free!" (That is if you take the truth, and apply it to your life.) You should also read the book, "The Fear of The Lord" by the same author. Another awesome book of the greatest importance.

Every person, every Christian should read this book, the world would be a much better place if the principle taught in this book were used.

This book deals effectively with both forgiveness and the more basic problem of taking offense in the first place.

This book is a real blessing. I was stuck in a resentment which was causing depression and anxiety, and wasn't aware of the affect it was having on me. This book reveals the power in holding offenses against others and the serious effects this has on us spiritually and in our walk with God. It's more than just forgiveness, it's a stronghold that can cause a root of bitterness to grow in us that will choke out other fruit, and God has some pretty powerful things to say about offenses. A must read if you have resentment, counsel people or are in ministry. Great resource!

John Bevere is an excellent, Spirit-filled minister/author.
The book holds your interest to the last page. I have re-read the book two times to capture all the information regarding Satan's ability to hold offended Christians captive and unable to grow any Fruit of the Spirit.

Pastor Beveres' book also includes "cafeteria church hopping Christian;" those who are offended by Pastors and church members. Instead of facing the problem head-on, the offended will continually hop from church to church looking for a "New Home."

I cannot stress too much to please purchase this book for your own spiritual growth.

This book is a good tool and teaching resource to overcome offenses. It has helped me to overcome it. I recommend reading it twice to get it in your heart from what I have read in the book. Overall I find it very helpful to anyone who is interested in this topic for what ever reason. This is a must read book to all believers.

The Bible says 'my people perish for lack of knowledge or rejection of knowledge'. My husband and I read this together. We found this to be an excellent tool to arm us against the ploys of the evil one. Knowledge is strength.
