What I liked about this book is it doesn't focus on victims of child abuse per se, rather, it's focus is that you had a bad childhood-whatever the reason! My parents were simply working all the time making them a bit neglectful. This book really helped me understand my parents, thus helping me learn how to put my bitterness aside, which has resulted in a better relationship. Dr. Laura's books are not filled with pyschological jabber and big words you have to look up in a medical dictionary. Straight forward and she "tells it like it is". Worth every penny at full price.
