The music is just one big loop from start to finish.
You walk around collecting clocks, everything kills you, when you get the skateboard you can't stop or slow down, so you die faster!
This game all around sucks.
Nothing is fun about it..

I'd save my money and buy the movie!

Back to the future NES Game
Review created: 05/06/09

This game isn't the greatest NES game ever made but it's hard to make a movie game actually over the top on fun. But if you are a Back to the Future fan or just a NES collector this would be perfect the first stage "battle" type of deal always leaves me cursing at the tv cause it's so hard to get passed but if you can get passed that it's simple.

The item was in great conditon as specified by the seller.I decide to buy the game cartridge from the seller because it had a fair price. The shipment of the game cartridge was fast. The seller notified me as soon as the item was shipped. They sent me an electronic receipt from their store. I would definetely buy again from this seller.

  Back to the Dumpster

Anyways, lets get right to the gameplay. The first mission is just a standard get to the end of the level before time runs out while avoiding all the stuff that are in your way. The direction you move in is up, but you can move side to side trying to avoid everything. So what do you need to avoid? Deadly ninjas, killer turtles, oktoroks, giant monsters of doom? Actually, no. You have to avoid bees, hoola-hoop girls, guys carrying glass for no apparent reason, oil spills, and fences. Really, is Marty that much of a pansy? Wait, the character you use doesn't even resemble Marty in anyway. Throughout the stage, you have to collect clocks so your time limit increases. So that's basically what you do. Collect clocks while avoiding random ****. It's just so annoying. Along the way, you can find a skateboard which makes you go faster. Though they should've put on the board, "Suicidal Skateboard, ride if you wish to die." By now you'd probably just want to take out the cartridge out of your NES and start watching the actual movie.

However, if you did have the patience to go through that stage, then don't worry, the next stage is different. It's a break from that annoying scrolling stage. However, it's not anymore fun. What you do in this stage is that you're behind a counter and you have to throw these balls at oncoming people. If they reach you, they'll grab and you just chuck you at the door. Though throwing the balls is just so aggravating. It's so difficult to align the ball with the enemy. Okay, so you position yourself seemingly right in front of the enemy's path, then you throw a ball, but it misses him completely. This stage is break from that annoying scrolling part, but it's not any less aggravating. Oh, and once you're done with this second stage, guess what the next stage has in stored for you? More scrolling up the screen! Whoop-tee-do, I'd rather go and screw a cactus while eating a mule's infested diarrhea dumps. If by now you haven't shut off this awful piece of ****, then I'm sorry, but there is no hope for you. Seriously, just throw this game into the dumpster and pull out the movie. It's much more worth your time.

The mechanics of this game just suck. It's difficult to control your character, and jumping is useless. Grabbing that skateboard I mentioned above just makes everything even worse. The graphics aren't that bad. Though they aren't impressive in anyway either. If the graphics are the best thing about a game, then there's a problem. The sound is horrible. It's just an annoying sound loop that goes throughout the whole game from the title screen. At least in that second stage you don't have to hear it. The sound effects aren't impressive in anyway either. Overall, the mechanics certainly aren't the worst on the NES... Though they still suck.

This game is criminal. It ruined such a great classic called Back to the Future. This game is just a rip-off. It's a horrendous game that just steals that classic title. It should've been called "Back to the Dumpster."

Pros:
The title screen looked good.

Cons:
The game is repetitive, the graphics suck, the music is flat out bad. There's more.

BACK TO THE FUTURE (Ljn, 1989) The worm is on the hook and the lure has just been cast off. The bait is set and now the creepy and greedy fisherman is waiting for dumb fish to bite. Back to the Future the video game may be based on the mega hit 1985 movie starring Michael J. Fox but you wouldn't know it after playing through a few seconds of this piece of crap here. The story is about a young man named Marty McFly that accidentally travels back in time to the 1950's. Ah, the 1950's: a time when television was a luxury item, video games didn't exist yet, racism was more socially acceptable,...

  A pure atrocity.

Pros:
Cart could be crushed easily with a hammer.

Cons:
Just about everything about this game is a con.

The Back To The Future series is one of my all time favorite movie series. It s one of the few series that has spawned more than two films and managed to have all three of them be high quality movies. This is somewhat rare in the movie industry as movies that have more than one sequel usually have at least one of them be of horrid quality. Many Back To The Future fans probably saw this game and though That was an awesome movie, I bet it will make an awesome game and purchased this. And why not think this? The movie did have a lot of action in it and could if handled right been made into an...

Pros:
If it s any consolation, it is rather challenging

Cons:
Horribly repetitive and boring linear gameplay, looped soundtrack

LJN Studios, a company I rank in the ranks of the worst companies ever along with Titus was also a company that really never made it big nor past being an elementary Nintendo company in the late 80s and early 90s. The company focuses all it s efforts on cashing in on big movie and television licenses such as the Back To The Future Trilogy, Spider-Man, WWF, Alien, Terminator 2, and Tiny Toons which are just other big licenses released on the NES. The company s plan was rather sheer: cash in on their horrendous titles through the big named licenses and buy other licenses that appeal to the wide.

Not even Doc's genius could save this game

Pros:
Back to the Future Title

Cons:
awful repetitive soundtrack, very frusturating, terrible graphics, unresponsive controls, almost impossible to beat!

When I heard that a Back to the Future game was coming out for the NES, i highly anticipated it. Of course, that was in 1989. I figured that their could be no way to make this game bad, but LJN supprised the masses once again, and released this awful excuse for a game. The fact that this game was released to represent one of the best movies ever created is a crying shame. First, i will start with the music. First of all, the actual track that they use is only 30 seconds long, but it is just looped over and over again. But, not only is it repetitive, its really bad too! Ill admit, ive cought..
