The Bachelor's Cat by L. F. Hoffman (1997, Hardcover)

This has to be one of the best books I have read in a long time. Approximately 10 years ago I purchased this book at a used book store and immediately fell in love with it. I have shared it with many, many friends. I wanted one for my best friend for Christmas and when I was told by the local book store that it was no longer in publication and they could not order it, I headed for e-bay. I was lucky enough to find several copies and I purchased every single one. Even if you are not a cat lover, you will love this book. If you have ever loved anything that you did not think you would love, and it has changed your life for the better, you will totally understand "The Bachelor's Cat". When you are done reading it, you realize that there is so much more to life than "appearances" and that loving someone or something that returns our love unconditionally and adds so much meaning to our life is probably the most wonderful experience God has given us. This is a very quick read but the message is profound and the reader finds himself changing right along with the bachelor and at the end hoping that the story is based on truth. A wonderful read for teens and young adults as they are led along by the bachelor to learn that a person's outside appearance is not what matters, it is what is in their heart and how they respond to life that truly matters.
