Babylon 5 - The Complete Seasons 1-5 (DVD, 2004)

When the series originally came out I followed it all through, even when they changed the network. This is the series that changed FXing for all other sci-fi programs! I'm also glad the the later dvds were improved, in terms of keeping the whole episodes in the better aspect ratio.

The seller was very effective in communications. I had to fix a payment -- he did it for me in no time. Shipped the same day. The item came in excellent condition.

Babilon 5 is a great peice of work. The script writers did a really good job on most of the episodes and they did a great job on the rest of the episodes! The movie is still striking the imagination both for me and for my 12 years old daughter. Great characters and great actors! Me heart B5!

I had a problem with the delivery that was TOTALLY MY FAULT. This seller went out of their way to make sure I got my credit as well as the product in faster than stated time. I will and HAVE shop with them again

This show was a little strange and comical at first. I thought the aliens in it were a little George Lucas and Star Warish. Then the grabbed me with the story lines and the building up of each character in the show. I started to identify with some of the characters. I just thought that Vir was a great balance for Londo then it became a balancing act between Londo and G-kar.Slowly the story line became a web that was tightening with every little move of your own, I just couldn't miss an episode I just had to see them all.I was very taken with Lita Alexander and how she balanced out all the other Psi Corps members. Then as time went on you saw what was done to her and just how much power she had was unimagineable yet necessary they were. With out her there was no way for the alliance to win the war. I was extremely angry with the writers of the show when the war was over and the treatment that Lita got from everyone else. She wanted a job to support herself and little by little she lost everything and finally she had to go back to Psi Corp for a job. Then when she finally had had enough she was threatened with death by Sheridan put in a cell and then Lita and G-kar left the show but they led the viewer to believe that there would be more later.I was always expecting the Psi wars and what would happen to Lita. However, they gave us nothing more on her only a mention of her from G-kar that she was no longer here. What that meant was anyones guess. Did she leave the galaxy? Did she and the rest of the espers get their own planet like they wanted. Nothing about her and yet the show would not have been as good without her.Everyone else was rewarded at the end of the series but Lita. I just have to buy the series because it still wont let go of my imagination just like star trek did in the 60's and then the rest of the Star Trek shows. There is always more to get out of it if you look closely enough at the show and listen to what they are saying and how they say it.

I use to make time to see this show every week. I missed the fifth season because the TV station in my area stopped running it the last season. I decided to watch it from the beginning to the end. The special effects were ahead of their time especially for a TV series which did not have a large budget. The old theme of the war between good and evil. The hard part to tell is which is which. Many of the character seem to change sides from time to time. The alien customes are convincing. Also a thing that I didn't realize when the show was Billy Muny (the kid from Lost in Space) played one of the characters. I like the extras because it allowed me to see the real faces of the some of the actors. It is always nice to see the shows in order. When it was on TV they were air in a random order. It seems that you always see the same ones and miss others shows completely. This is a great collection to add to your library.

Arrived in brand new excellent condition. Husband loved the show when it was on and has missed a lot of the episodes. He is extremely happy with this set. He gets to see it all from the beginning. The characters he loves and the pictures quality. And best of all . . . . . NO COMMERCIALS. This alone is worh buying. When you consider the quality of the reality shows on TV today. This is a wonderful diversion. I feel that as the programing on TV detiorates more and more of us are going to be purchasing our favorites.

I am a big B5 fan (along with the rest of my family) We have been wanting to get the compleat dvd set but the only ones we could even afford to liik at were the China ones, and I did not want one of them. Untill now all the sellers of the US versions had priced themselves out of contension, now we can watch and rember becouse a seller didn't want to rip us off. Thanks Mike

No one has raised this before that I know, but the special effects on Babylon Five and Star Trek-The Next Generation were so good and meshed so well with the story lines that the Star Trek movie franchise was seriously damaged. A movie with the STTNG crew was almost indistinguishable from a TV episode. That said, I despise serial shows because you can never catch all the episodes...but the exception is Babylon Five. I greatly enjoyed the story line which included many stand-alone episodes. I did get a chance to watch it all the way through on TV, and now I have the full series on DVD. Such a great show deserves a permanent existence which TV shows just never had until videotape and later DVD came along.

Having hunted for some time now a complete 5 seasons set of this TV series, I had about given up on finding one that I could afford. The best price had been well over $300, until I found this one on EBay. While I cannot vouch for all EBay sellers, this one was true to her word. The set was exactly as presented, new, in original box sets, commercially made in the USA. The sellers price was only a fraction of the retail asking price, and her feedback score was exceptional. I can enjoy these professional quality programs without the guilty feeling of having spent an inordinate amount of money on them.

I actually kept one of these for myself and was quite impressed with the quality. It is all in English, and the boxset is very nicely done. I love this series and am really glad I got the 5 season boxset. Much cheaper and nicer than the individual seasons.

Good prices, quick shipping. Some of the DVD's are badly scratched which makes me wonder if these were "new" as shown in listing.

There are TWO types of DVD sets available. The set we bought is not what is pictured here- in five separate black boxes. What we bought is in the purple and white single "gift box"- a set of 30 DVDs. It is a very poor quality copy, although it says it is licensed. That, of course, means nothing. The back of the box that lists copyright info. has terrible misspellings- translated by someone who did not have an understanding of the English language- only an English dictionary.

Example: Supplementaty Materials, Package Arwork, Design & summary c 1999 tumer Entertainment C. And wraaer home Video. Avakiablefrom Wamer home Video, a time Wamer entertainment Comoant,...." etc.

That should have been the first clue. Its hilarious except for the fact that we spent over $100 on this item and should have returned it immediately. I can't imagine that Warner Brothers would allow that, but we were naive to think that all copies are the same and that there would be no such thing as a bootleg (?) available (or Avakiable) on such a well-known outlet as Ebay.

The quality of the DVDs is suspect as well. The video quality is not consistent- at times there is interference or skipping. Also, NONE of the commentary works on any of the disks. Instead, you will get a Chinese voice-over. Also, the episodes are out of order on at least one of the disks.

Had we known all of this, we would have spent another $75 for a good copy, but it was a slow realization after watching all the disks that we did not get everything we were expecting. In spite of it all, we enjoyed the series. We will be wiser next time.

I bought Babylon 5 complete set 1-5 a few weeks ago. It great having seasons 1-5 all on dvd. Its a excellent show to watch over and over again. If you like star trek you will love Babylon 5! My only complaint is that some of the disc's didn't work right.

We love the DVDs. We were fans of the show when it originally ran on TV ten years ago; now it is nice to watch the entire five year saga all over again. The nice thing about this science fiction series is that it is not only a five-year story with a beginning and an end, but it is filled with drama and humor. Lots of humor. The special affects are subtle, yet dramatic. The costumes are great, the alien make-up is believable and very well done. All in all, the characters, whether human or alien are well developed and multi-faceted. The acting is also excellent. I give it five stars!

Excellent disk sets: Enjoyable bonus features. Filled out some of the "grey" areas as to why creator did what was done.

I actualy did buy this from Best Buy. It was cheaper there. $20.00 for each season even though it took me another couple of months to get the rest. The only problem I had with the show was season 5's opening theme song which I don't think has any kind of rythym. Nut the show as whole is really great.

Arrived promptly and in good condition. Will be a Christmas gift for my daughter. Daughter requested this for Christmas gift so went on eBay to find the best price - this was it. Thank you.

I received a cheap knockoff. While the discs do work, it is not the quality that was advertised. Make sure that you inquire that the product is an original production and not an invitation.

For the true "Babylon 5" fan, (at this writing) I freely admit I am not qualified to write a review about the actual series "Babylon 5". But eBay wanted me to write a review, so I thought I'd write about WHY I bought the series, rather than critique the series itself--I'm clearly not qualified to do that. So here's my review on why I bought the series:

The reason I bought the entire series (Seasons 1-5) is because Battlestar Galactica is now over and I wanted another good (really good) series to watch. I began reading Wikipedia and doing research and found that I read nothing but good things about Babylon 5. I had never seen it when it first ran, so I'm really looking forward to watching this.

What intrigued me most was that I read (on more than one occasion) that the writers wrote the series with a story arc in mind: a beginning, a middle and an end. They didn't start and then figure out where to go from there. Also, there are several Babylon 5 movies that track with the series, the "Babylon 5 Movie Collection". I plan to get that too. Then there is a series spin-off that only ran for one year, "Crusade". I'm going to watch that too. So there is quite a lot of story to get into with Babylon 5.

I may not be qualified to critique Babylon 5, but I am a huge science and sci-fi enthusiast. I like sci-fi, I mean to say: I like GOOD sci-fi. One has to make the distinction for there truly is a difference. (off topic, but relevant, I think): My favorite author is Arthur C. Clarke; my favorite story he wrote is "The Star" Anyone who knows their sci-fi, knows that story. The only reason I mention this is because for people who know the story will also know where I'm coming from. I'm a sci-fi fan, I love sci-fi, I love GOOD sci-fi. Thank you for listening/reading.
