Disappointing to get 2 seasons in 1...
Historically, the creator of the series gave up on the notion of a fifth season too early, leading to this season four with double the content of a normal season. The Shadow War, once thought to be the heart of this season, has been reduced to half a dozen episodes, which is initially disappointing. The remainder of the season slows back down, ending in a comfortable pace which explores the fates of all the societies that make people love the show so much.
No, it's not the marvelous show that it was for the first 3 seasons, but it's story is strong and its characters are just as rich as ever before. This season would be worth it just to see how well the fates of Londo and G'Kar end up intertwined (as previewed in season 3's two-part episode War Without End). Add to it the fates or earth, Mimbar, the Shadows, Vorlons and various characters we've known for years, and it's hard to imagine turning this season down...
